Dont wet clean!!!! New
« on: July 22, 2017, 05:44:19 pm »
I Had a customer call me today asking for a quote, she told me the supplier told her it cannot be wet cleaned.

I have a arranged a survey for next week as I always do , but seeking more information I asked her if she new the type /fibre ?
Its 50%wool and the sales man told me not to wet clean it, unusual I thought then asked her where she bought it. Carpet Right.

Now I,m just wondering if the salesman knew what he was talking about!!

Any body heard of a 50% wool carpet not suitable for wet cleaning?  I know their will be carpets unsuitable but I doubt from Carpet right.

I think   Crusual (sp) Trading do a range of wool carpets that are not suitable for wet cleaning but they are sold in specialist carpet shops not the big national companies.

Salesmen in store are just that salesmen...... not carpet experts

A customer once told me that a carpet shop said wool should not be cleaned as it takes out the natural sheep oil.  ::)roll

Too many old wives tales on here.  All too many carpet shops sell olefin carpets to restaurants, Thais carpet is oileotropic and hydrophobic  so what do carpet salesmen know about carpet except how to measure it. ?????
