matted xtreme brush(natural bristle)
« on: June 29, 2017, 07:22:03 pm »
i noticed today one of my natural bristle xtremes is matted in the middle section of bristles making it  virtually unusable.their all clumped together and i cant untangle them. ::)roll

ive left it in a bucket of hot water and hope that helps  untangle it or ill have to bin it.its new too and only been used a few times.

anyone else had this with the natural bristle versions?

Yea same happened to mine, but was about 3 weeks after i got them, i find the extreme brushes dont last very long due to having less bristles. I just bought 2 extreme stiff dual trim to see if they last a bit longer, if not it will be back to the super lite.

^^^ As above , stiff extreme if you want it to last , i moved to them in Jan 15 after an unexpected stroke , Alex was kind enough to send me a couple to reduce the strain when i got back on the glass , i wont forget that gesture as it was not asked for........I did ask him for an SLX , never got it.......he's a nice man , but not that nice ;D
I ended up buying one myself , he knew i would once snared .
Anyway those same 2 extremes are still in daily use today for monthly cleans , i swap to an ultimate for first cleans but thats it.

im disappointed to say the least.i wont be buying these brushes again.

the thing is theyre the best scrubbing  brushes in that lightness bracket but having to bin a brush thats only been used a few times is unacceptable to me.they should last at least 2 or 3 months IMO(USED EVERY DAY).the natural bristles really help with snail trails, bird muck, etc but no good if they clump together. ::)roll

i would like to see a more compact extreme more brstels with a different splay more like the supreme range ! one thing i did find with my extreme was that due to lack of bristels the stock used to mark the window leges because it scraps them , ive never had a complant yet but i took the brush off and only use it on my super max 47  now when working at 40ft +  i now use the ultmate brushes again i do like these , i also use how water to this tends to kill my brushes but i still wouldent work with cold  ;D my next brush will be ultmate stiff

All my brushes are stiffs , the only downside is jumpy on leaded , stiff with 0 splay is next on the list .

stiff brushes are also not as good for scrubbing snail trails off IME(unless your using hot water).do you use cold water mate?

Cold only now , hot only goes in for 3 months a year  , you are right about the snails though but it just needs a few more passes , plus for some bizarre reason i only seem to have 1 house that gets the slugs bad so no real biggie for me .

Just got two of these and love them.

Only had them a week though. Time will tell.

It's like the scrubbing power of a normal size brush in an extreme weight.

Been using the xtreme with natural bristles for nearly 3 months (used on about 50% of work).  Find it a decent brush and no wear issues so far. Not sure what some of you guys do to your brushes.

just normal work mate.its the middle section of bristles that have matted up because their natural bristles.other than that its not worn but useless for scrubbing now so ive had to bin it.

i found mine knotted up when using with hot water but ive used xtremes for months and they still look generally good apart from the ends wearing abit but honestly we cant complain with what they cost and how much they make us.

Am I right in saying the extreme brush is the black bristles ...... If so agreeing with dazmond, all bristles have matted on right had side, it has fan jets in and I find meself bending the bristles back from around the jet as they all curled up, think it needs a trim with a pair of scissors around that area but worth keeping hold of for shutters or spraying chems with
