Had same issue. Never seen to last very long in our industry. Particularly the right boot or depending which side you hold your pole. A lot of strain are placed on them.
I bought Catapillar (cat) boots. After three years still going strong.

Either cheapo Aldi/Lidle jobbies and chuck after a year or two; karrimors and chuck after a year or two or pay three times as much and get three times as long.
Doesn't make a lot of difference to me.

I've got the old British army gortex boot, but these are the updated versions:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BRITISH-ARMY-HAIX-GORETEX-BROWN-COMBAT-BOOTS-VARIOUS-GREAT-SIZES-NEW-IN-BOX-/201886926541?var=&hash=item2f016606cd:m:mzs0EMSMg-P2hoM5F_8CBPw
They'll need some breaking in, but will be good for 3 or 4 years if you put some polish on them regularly.
I'll get some before the winter.

I have used berghaus, brasher, meindl and loads more. Im heavy on ball of my foot do wear soles quick.
Best boots i ever had were from decathlon. Quecha bionassay. Paid 110 which was 70 quid cheaper than meindl boots. Decathlon dont stock them anymore either. Had 2 pairs of them.
