Pressure hose fitting stuck
« on: June 01, 2017, 10:12:11 am »
Bit of a strange one. Doing a fairly large driveway today. Went to swap from FSC to lance to rinse off an area but the QR fitting is stuck fast on the FSC.  I've pushed it in further, twisted it etc but it's not budging! I've got another hose which I can just swap over at the machine but it'll need to come off at some point.

 Any suggestions?  ???

Don't want to patronise you but before  you tried to uncouple the lance did you depress the trigger first to clear all the pressure from the machine to the gun. Just trying to help!

Will the outer coller pull back  or is it stuck? If so help it move back with a hit from a well place flat head screwdriver and hammer

If the coller does pull back then the, male connector is gnarled by the steel bearings of the female and become jammed, pull the coller back and give it s a good wiggle & pull. Then fit a new pair of couplings

Try spraying it with wd40 and twist and pull the collar down might help , I have had a similar thing happen and this usually works , unless the male fitting is damaged then it's more difficult to disconnect it

Ha! I knew someone would say that! Yes I did

The collar won't pull back, I'll give that a try. I didn't have anything to whack it with on site but I'll do that tomorrow

Cheers I'll try that first if you've had success, save beating a perfectly good coupling. Both ends are fairly new so I assume a bit of grit has got in there stopping it pulling back

Cheers all

Matt.

Happened to me lots of times, usually pick a spanner hammer or something a bit heavy, tap around the outside working around it in the end it will pop off

I got shot of all qr couplings a long time ago as were far too much hassle.  They either failed, got jammed or just fell apart.

Cheers, these sorts of ideas came to after I'd finished as I had spanners in the van as well  ::)roll

So do you have M22 threads on everything then Smurf? Is that not a ball ache to change from FSC, turbo, rinse?

Throw away QR's I think we all start with em but soon realise more pain than what they are worth, use m22's to gun then use qr spigots on lances and fscs  ;)
