Pressure washer running rubbish
« on: May 26, 2017, 08:55:15 pm »
Hi,
My honda 13hp 21ltrs per minute is running rubbish! It's only a couple of years old and hasn't done loads of work probably 150-200 hours ,
I have bought a new turbo nozzle recently and it was working lovely, then the uploader wouldn't always pop up and down when on and off the trigger making g the machine dance all over the place! And now when all running fine plenty of water, revs up on full and uploaders flow turned up it will be fine for a bit then suddenly the turbo nozzle will get less and less until it stops spinning around all this and the uploader is poppi g up and down like it should  this machine has messed around since I have had it 😡

Sounds like the unloader is worn - beware if this is the problem you can do a lot of damage to the machine if you carry on using it. The only reason I suggest this is that I had my annual service on Wednesday and complained to the engineer that my unloader wasn't popping up and down with the action of the trigger.  he dismantled the unloader and showed me the worn part. He also inspected a new nozzle I had purchased and use for intricate work. He commented its not compatible and this would have contributed to the short life of the unloader. So maybe you should research the compatibility of the pressure washer and the new turbo you have purchased recently.

Sounds like unloaded is main culprit

When was the last service for air filter and carb ? Also worth checking the filter where water enters machine - could be blocked slowing up water supply.

Finally have you cracked the turbo nozzle ceramic plate ? This will stop it spinning as well

Had all of the above at some time over the last 4 years - just changed uploaders this week and now I fit a pressure gauge to ensure I don't over pressure the system
