Yes the further West the better.

Cant you make it in St Ives Then you all could stay for a few days.

It is one of the best places on the planet to spend new year or any time of the year to be honest

Dave

That's a nice offer David.  So we're all staying at your place then?  :-)
I agree with you about St Ives.  I've visited the area before and have friends in Hayle (though St Ives is nicer).

Ellis Way.
i don't know the name of the district (if Hayle is large enough to have any districts).  It's a walkway in amongst a housing estate.
Now i'm starting to wonder if it's Ellis Walk but I think it's Ellis Way as stated.

it is Ellis way,

I lived just around the corner a few years ago, I am about a mile away now.

I cleaned a couple on there at one time but gave them up to chase richer pickings.

I don't blame you for chasing richer pickings David.  I wouldn't imagine that immediate area to be much of a moneyspinner.  I seem to recall that unemployment down that way was very high and the work that did exist was often seasonal and low paid.  My friends used to work at a St Ivel plant but I think that work went some years ago.  The last I heard, only one of them was living at the house as they had split up.

You are correct , Hayle is one of the poorest wards in the UK, It has got the lowest wages and very high property prices and higher than average unemployment.

Saying that half the population are the retired rich.

Just recently the average house price has become equivelant to 9 times the average local wage.

St Ivel closed about 7 years ago now, that was the last biggest employer in the area.

Ok then.  I think we've decided not to have a Christmas party in Hayle anyway   :)  .  It's just a pity that the private messaging facility was removed from this board as that could be used for off topic posts such as this.

Thanks, not sure why it was removed?

I will ask about if it can be restored.

Many thanks,

Trevor.  I do recall some discussion about it quite a while ago but I am unable to remember the details of the discussion.  It may well be that there were very good reasons for removing the facility though I've no idea why.  I think it's old age making me forgetful  :(

Hi Shiner,

Have been advised the p/m facility was removed due to abusive and improper use.

As always, a handful of idiots spoil it for the others!

Best wishes,
