Christmas Party for the members
« on: June 07, 2006, 09:38:28 pm »
I am considering organising a Christmas Party for the members

This is just to get an idea what people are prepared to do. I am not saying it is definate but if the numbers hold up then I will speak to the other moderators and see what the interest is?

Please answer based on the party would be a dinner / dance venue in a hotel with accomodaion either provided or arranged individually.

Thanks

Spot on

All hotels and such make there money in the Xmas period

And in my experience the best deals at weekends for B&B are in city centres were they are full during the week with business people.

I go to my works xmas do every year but as i work for myself im the only person to turn up.

So a get together with other window cleaners would be great.

Maybe there should be a few scattered around the country and then you could go to the one nearest you.

Valid point about locations Paul, when the feedback comes in from the poll then I will speak to the moderators and see what we can organise.

I will also be looking at some of the major suppliers to see if they will sponsor us for some freebies for a xmas raffle etc...

It may well end up with 2 parties, the south/central and the central/north.

If we hold them on different dates then anyone who is prepared to travel the extra distance is welcome to go.

Its early days yet but will look to have a firm agenda by the end of this month.

Keep posting folks.

Where is all the fun in you guys??

This post has been read 164 times

and 28 replies.

Looks like its a small get together then  ???

This is what I have in mind:

Travel to location on late afternoon.

Drinks in the bar
3 course meal
Possibly organising an auction with products donated by suppliers in aid of Cancer Research
Followed by music and lots more drinks
Crash at the location
Breakfast in the morning
Maybe use the morning to discuss the forum, network business ideas etc...yes I know you will have hangovers but were are window cleaners, tough as nails!

Hope this is a bit more interesting?

Best wishes,

It's only a posting to see if anyone wants to get together for a drink etc and get a chance to meet.

Don't really see a problem.

We don't have to buy eachother presents unless someone want to get me a bigger van ;D ;D

Just another night out  :P :P

Guys/Girls

Please DO NOT comment on religion no matter what your opinions.

If you are going to post on here please make your comment regarding the party itself.

I will be removing the previous posts, (can't do it right now for some reason??)

Lets keep this in the spirit it is intended, a bit of fun, a get together nothing else.

Many thanks,

A lot of window cleaners are Jehovah's Witnesses and don't do Xmas. Hence even as forum members they would not be interested.

Not that this would influence the rest though!  :)

My mum is a J W. I AM NOT. Can we have a clause, J W NOT INVITED. We dont get on.

Nothing wrong with them coming so long as it's remembered that it's not a "witnessing" opportunity.

Your Mum has a lot more sense than you by the sound of it.

I thought this was supposed to be a window cleaning forum? Not an opportunity to have a pop at JW's. I think you'll be suprised how many on this forum are JWs. I know of one who is very respected on this forum who has made over 600 posts.

Archie

Quite right too Archy.  However, you did make a comment about "the new system" recently so, perhaps it would be better if both the JWs and the non JWs kept religion out of the forum.  I will not initiate any pop at a JW but if a JW is going to make even a minor mention of their religion, I will call them on it (nicely).
