I quoted a house the other day when canvassing. Large detached house with a big conservatory & a separate detached outbuilding. I quoted £55 which I think is a reasonable price for the amount of work. Got an email from her husband asking if I could do it for £45. 

Now I am after work so don't really want to say no but at the same time if I accept £10 less does that not seem I was ripping him off initially?

If you need the work why not say yes but charge extra on the first clean the "smash it out" on subsequent cleans?

I would count a £50 job on a regular domestic as one of my bigger jobs and might negotiate a little without feeling hard done by or that I had been trying it on.

Charge more for the first clean for sure.
