Hi all.
I've not been on here for a while so please forgive me for my absenteeism.
Anyway can anyone explain why there is a burning part left side of the controller. I can't say I have ever noticed any issues with the controller or seen any smoke. I've just seen this about a week ago and thought, I've not noticed that before.  I do keep touching the controller throughout the day and it never gets hot at all.
Any help please?

That tells me somethings wrong with the inside of the controller

Open up the controller and see what's going on inside.

I can't tell From The pic if it's burning or if it's just an external mark from Something else? 

If something is wrong you will see blackened connections and burn marks inside. Then you definitely know something is wrong and stop using it immediately!

Or it could be an external heat source of some kind like a pressure washer hot exhaust coming into contact with the side of the controller. Bobbyboy you don't do pressure washing too by any chance?

It looks to me as though its the right screw but just hasn't been screwed in properly.

I've had a look inside and can't see any evidence of heat. The screw didn't screw back in properly. I've had the controller for 7 years with no issues. Never even had to change the fuse. Not done any pressure washing for a while so will have another look inside and hopefully get a photo.

The screws on the controllers are spring loaded,in the pics it's not to long it's just not been pushed in and tightened up,I had the same .

I would think it's been something external then.

If the internal wiring and circuit boards look ok then I'd say your fine. It just looks like at some point in time the outside of the box has been too close to a source of heat.

Wow 7 years of service from a controller that would make it a V6 we have not made those for a good while. To reassure the PCB and enclosure are tested and would need temperatures in excess of 300 centigrade before they begin to smoke. The V6 will run hotter than our current V11 but should still not be more than warm to the touch. If there is no sign of damage to the PCB then the heat mark is from an external source. Due to the age of the controller there will be some wear to the components so please ensure the fuse is not higher than 7.5amps. also keep an eye out for worn cable and connectors as these can be a source of heat as they wear and corrode. Replace any that are badly worn/corroded. Just shows used as designed and with a little TLC these controls last a log time.
