Pricing help..
« on: April 26, 2017, 01:55:55 pm »
I have a regular client who has an office in Knightsbridge on the 2nd floor with no parking access for truckmount who needs a quote for 850 sq ft. Lift is only available from the first to second floor so portable and hoses to be carried up to first floor.

I have a figure in my head that it's worth due to the complete ballache  it will be, coupled with £4 ph parking,  just looking for others in and around London to  confirm I what sort of price is acceptable..

I will confirm price later, just looking for pointers..

Only you know how much you want to earn an hour and only you will know how long it will take. So multiply the two together and there you go  :)

If your going to be there all day might be worth just getting a ticket as might work out cheaper. And just add the fine on to the bill.

Depends how much fines are in London? Up here its £30 as long as you pay within 30 days.

Why would anyone else be able to confirm what's acceptable?

It's entirely up to you - you're the one doing it.

.70 p to 1.00 per sq ft for central London is fair, depending on the access and condition of the carpets etc, I think you are pretty much right on the button.

No great help but we used to do all the carpets for a Buildinbg Society. They had a branch in Mayfair where they were replacing all the carpets but wanted 2 flights of stairs cleaned which were remaining. I said I wouldn't be going all the way down there for such a small job but would try and get someone to do it. I contacted a fire and flood colleague down there and he said he would have a look. Came back with a price of £640 + vat. Parking was £11 an hour outside. They ok'd it and he did the job. When I next met the carpet fitters who had been working there I asked them how long he was there for, 20 minutes. :o That was about 14 years ago.
