the other day as I was working on the glass, a chap walking past said: hello shiner! And asked me if we are still being called shiner? I said I'd never Been called that  before. Just wondering if that name is still being used? And are there any other ones still in use?

I've been called Window Cleaner, Window Man, Washer Man, Window Washer but never Shiner. Shiner seems to me more of a name we refer to ourselves as rather than what people call us.  To me anyway

On another point, i cleaned this customers windowsand went back in evening to collect. We often had a chat, she was out in garden with her 18yr old daughters (summer time), they all knew i was the "window cleaner" but as i approached the mum said "hi nathan" the girls looked in shock and actually said to their mum, "what you know his name!!"
