So im back on snobs hill as the locals refer to the street.
I mentioned before how ive taken over this round 2yrs back though i worked it for many years with the chap i took over from (he switched careers). Majority increased by a minimum of £5.
Lol you can read all waffle on the previous thread
Some clients were in last month when i cleaned and so they were told face to face as well as a small flyer (again posted in another thread) being left and the others had a flyer posted. During the 4 weeks ive had 2 clients cancel. Not due to the service or quality etc but due to the increase. One went from 9 to 12 which was the smallest of increases. She just wasnt happy that the price went up, though she had the same price for over 10yrs. Even explained i clean the hut with windows, known as the community hall for £15 (which i also took over) per clean and even though ive increased her price to 12 its still less than the smaller ran down building of the community hall. But she wouldnt have it so a polite thank you and goodbye was left.
The 2nd went from 13 to 18, a large 3 bed semi with conservatory in a weĺl to do area. Ideally it should be 20 and would be if a new customer but its different when u take over sadly. Anyway she cancelled due to price alone, even though i clean their 2 daughters houses which are slightly smaller for more than what she pays. So again a polite thank you and goodbye was given.
But then within the 4wks ive picked up 3 jobs totalling 50 and pricing another up tomorrow, which is the beauty of our work.
Anyway today cleaned on snobs hill and after i cleaned the windows of this client (who ive known for 14yrs as i cleaned her house) she told me her hubby wasnt impressed with a 50% increase from 10 to 15. I explained again price difference of the community hall (which is at the bottom of snobs hill) and again she just said she understood but its a 50% in one go. Lol i told her the back interest on inflation over the many years that matt (previous cleaner) kept her price low, would be way greater than the £5 increase. Also i had a min price of 10 for a basic run of the mill house and i cannot justify a smaller house in a less affluent area being the same price as hers. She had none of it and so goodbye and thankyou etc. But then as i was packing up later as i had finished on the hill she comes dashing out to apologies and asks to be kept on books. I was going to say no, but had a change of heart cause im kind like that
So i only lost 2 house, a total of £22 as i wanted to make £30 from them instead. But then i pick up 3 new jobs totalling 50 and all the other £5min increases have been accepted.
So over all not the doom and gloom that some mentioned it might be 😆😆
