I've bought one second hand of eBay, quite a decent price..

Set it up with a buffer tank to test it, and there is no pressure from the gun..

Pressure coming out of the machine is quite high, but then nothing from the gun...

any suggestions as the vario lance seems to be a sealed unit,

When you say pressure coming from the machine, do you mean water is coming out?
If water is coming out then you may need to remove the lance from the high pressure hose then fire up the machine again and this time let it run for a minute without the lance to let the system prime - You should notice the pressure kick in - Stop the machine and reintroduce the lance.

I've no idea what washer you have but I thought most of those Clarke washers were direct feed.

Anyhow if it is defo the type of washer that sucks from a buffer tank you will need to start the washer on full throttle with the choke on first with your lance trigger pulled in. Turning the choke off when it starts. To prime the pump just lower the throttle still with the lance trigger pulled in until it the pump builds up pressure. In doing so water will start to flow out of the lance. Then just throttle up and away you go.

Hello, I've not yet thanks.. I'm going to try it again in the morning, i'm 90% certain its the lance..

but there is a jetwash repair place nearby and they told me today to just take it down and they'll have a look, rather than selling me a lance which might not be needed..

I'm going to try and get a normal lance which I can change the ends rather than a variable lance..

So with no hose on it jets out the pump? If you connect the hose but no lance it jets out of the hose.

Have you removed the jet to see if it's blocked?

If you are getting pressure out of the pump you need to work along the supply chain until you find the blockage

Took it to the jetmac who are based down the road..

Lad there took one look and diagnosed it in seconds... piece of rusty metal clogging up the sprayer... Got it out with a piece of guitar string..

no pressure on the buffer tank feed, bought through eBay so im covered

tried your instructions and it didn't work, when i syphoned some through it pulled its own, but nowhere near enough,..

Have you tried it connected directly to an outside tap instead as I'm not convinced it will work from a buffer tank?

gun is knackered though, needle point sprays, no other setting works.
