Screwfix no nonsense degreaser
« on: March 31, 2017, 09:47:43 am »
For anyone who hasn't tried it yet and feel ubik and virasol are bit rubbish, here's a quick review..

In terms of dilution rates and cleaning power,  no nonsense beats both of the above easily.
You only need 5 cap fulls per 20 litres of water, although i add alot more for extra oomph.
It's a clear liquid so don't have to worry about stains and it's very high foaming, comparable with cif, so you get great coverage.
I cleaned a really really dirty, green, black stained, moss covered, bird poop target of a conservatory roof a couple of days ago. I know ubik/virasol would of achieved maybe just about acceptable results with alot of elbow grease, but would of struggled on the heavier soiling. Normally i get out the cif for these bits.
No nonsense destroyed everything.
I sprayed it on, left for 5 mins, then scrubbed with a low water flow. Everything just melted off effortlessly, even most of the black stains which ubik/virasol really struggle with.
Definitely made the job far easier.

If you like the high foaming action and cleaning power of cif but want the coverage and benefit of using in a backpack sprayer like virasol/ubik, then no nonsense is a no brainer.

Good post Chris, nice to have a positive review of a product that we can all benefit from.

I'll go and grab myself some, as I'm doing loads of these types of jobs of late and find TFR a bit crap if I'm honest.

It's cheap as chips, 2 × 5 litres for less then £15.
At the stated dilution rates it will last ages too.
I just pour loads into my backpack though so will get through it pretty quick.
Iv also made up a premixed 25 litre drum so i have it ready for when needed.

i used that upvc max a guy is selling on the facebook pages and found it left a nice shine the other day on a con roof i cleaned, ive tried various tfr's and dont find them much better than just soaking the roof for 5 mins with water!
might give this screwfix stuff a go too though, thanks for that

Be using it off/on for a while now Chris.
