Buy or lease?

As simple as that. What do you do to finance a new van?

If you have the funds sitting in a bank then it would make sense to buy it out right.

If you have the funds in the bank keep it there and lease.
The benefits of leasing far outweigh buying in my opinion.

Apart from cash flow, what are the other benefits?

Well you named one of the most important ones and the reason most companies go under, aside from that
You keep your cash, it's tax efficient, you have a nice shiny van every couple of years, you can choose a vehicle you otherwise could not afford and no depreciation. If you add in contract you can have all the repairs and tyre replacements thrown in as well but as new vehicles as so efficient these days I would not bother with even this as they rarely go wrong and only need servicing once a year, plus your road fund and break down cover is thrown in as well.

Other benefits but I think that covers it. ;)

That's good. I was thinking of a lease before I bought my current van last April.  When I worked out the cost though it worked out expensive.  I can't remember the exact figures but I think it worked out at about £9.5k after three years for the same van I bought for £9k which is all mine.

Granted 2nd hand but in very good order.  29k miles, 2 year old Transit and still very shiny and new looking.
