One year back in business
« on: March 07, 2017, 08:27:47 pm »
I little under a year ago I (re)started my carpet cleaning business and thought I'd update you on it's progress.

My 1st weeks only made about 300 a week but within 3 months I was up to 500 and steady.

After 6 months I got my 1st commercial job and am getting them fairly often now.

This year I got a client who owns 900 furnished flats and wants them done (at a very low price) once a year. When I count my normal work and returning customers I don't have time to eat lunch!

I have a Facebook page with 45 reviews, all 5 star and dozens of pictures of my work.

To be honest I still feel like I'm not up to the quality I'd like but my prices are low and I'm in a bit of a trap as I can't really afford to do much more.

As it is I think I'm doing well and plan to gradually increase prices over the next 3 years and get newer gear, though a truckmount is a nogo as I'm usually on the 27th floor!

Thanks to all for the help and advice.

Jo

hi  sounds like you doing pretty well to me. try and put your prices up say 50p a metre and test your response we done
this many years ago and I was surprised how many people just kept booking. but you must be happy with your services
you a providing to be worth paying more than your completion test for say 6 weeks if all goes well increase slightly again
and so on you will know when you have hit top amount all the best happy cleaning

Sounds like youve gotten very busy by being fairly cheap

take on another worker and keep going or up your prices?

Why wait over three years to put your prices up? Be brave and up them up tomorrow.  You'll be surprised how many people won't bat an eye lid and say "when can you fit me in".
