IGX440 for driveways/patios
« on: March 06, 2017, 05:36:20 pm »
Hi All,

Quick hello and a question. I've decided to start offering pressure washing services locally as a sideline to my current business. I've done a fair bit of research but always happy to hear advice & criticism where necessary.
I've started purchasing equipment, mainly used, to hit the ground running as well kitted as I can. I have a Jetmac 18" FSC, lances  and have been offered a powerful used pressure washer for a good price.

My question is; the unit is a Honda IGX440 running an interpump W202 and reduction gearbox. Rated at 21lpm this sounds good enough to power the 18" and possibly something bigger should a larger job come up. I'm aware it'll need a buffer tank to run it due to the large flow. Does this sound like a suitable machine or am I missing something?

Thanks in advance

I had considered it but I wouldn't want to waste his time as I'm not looking to buy anything from him at present, bit too cheeky in my book  :)

Good to know! I've seen a lot of industry specific (not cleaning) forums can be a little prickly to new starters (which I understand), I read a lot but I won't be getting you guys to run my business via keyboard for me  :). Thanks Kev

Honda is a good engine and interpump is a quality pump so I don't think you have gone far wrong with them. The jet Mac FSC might be suspect. Don't forget the turbo lance which is essential  and start researching sodium hypoclorite you will need knowledge of this

Thanks for the input Mike. I've researched both of those already, learning before acting in my book!

Have you had a chance to play with it yet?
If so would be interesting to hear what you think of it and even better if you could  post a vid so we can all see it in action.
