Newbie needing some advice
« on: February 19, 2017, 09:32:13 pm »
Hello Guys and Gals,

I run a One off Cleaning company for nearly 25 + years and i have been asked more and more to do outside windows, however, this is one off thing but every day

I am looking for recommendations, on which water feed poles, hoses, brushes as i am not great with heights. Pretty much any advice, tips you can offer would be highly welcomed.

Thank you

Matt.

Welcome

By this u mean u need a wfp set up in a van that can be used as and when required, and or if it takes off u have a window cleaner working for u daily.

Best bet before u even think about a set up is go on gardiners web site and have a good look on there for poles and equipment. Then depending on size of van available or if u have a van already is there room for a set up to be fitted. I would say go the diy route but if u just want an easy life u can go pure freedom or grippa seam to make enough windies happy.

First thing to do if buy a tds metre off eBay ( about £10 ) test the water out of the tap u intend to supply the water to the van, this will determine if u need an RO or just di to purify ur water.

Then decide on size of tank u thinking of using, best to get one in a frame as can be bolted down through van floor.

I would suggest you start by looking at Gardiners Pole Systems, I've been more than pleased with most of the products bought from them, their customer service is very good and they also do tutorial you tube video's. I do use other suppliers for bits & bobs and sometimes bigger equipment, Cleaning Spot, window cleaning warehouse, D'Aqua (for resin), etc etc.
Hope this helps.

wfp works better on regular cleans, it is difficult to get it spot on for one off cleans.

If you regularly do dirty one off cleans you would probably be better off using a hot water system.

are you wanting to build a window cleaning business - if not for the outlay cost it may be better finding a decent window cleaner you can pass work too for a small commission ? just MHO  ;)

One ofs are a good income down my way not many will do them

I charge average £65-85 on a small three bedroom, if you do one a day it's a good add on to cleaning already

I guess an investment into a complete set up, is possibly quiet costly now
when I first started with pole's, way over 20 years ago I would work with two resin vessels in the car two hose reels one for water in and one for water out and a tucker pole

Resin only lasted me at least a month a bag
But very simple set up
I guess now a days you can buy something you plug in and purify as you need but a costly set up

I'm guessing you need to confident what investment you want or as above some one stated find a window cleaner use him but charge well, you'll make at least what he possibly charges you without the investement of your time

Especially if you charge as brazenly as I do

Out only and. I Only price that high as no one else down in my area  wants to do one offs and I get many calls for end tenancy and those that don't want regular cleans

Ive got dozens of once a year only customers who you do in and out and facia soffits gutters. there very well priced and you generally spend a day there some jobs two days

I don't wish to do them either I'd much prefer regular sux weekly maintenance cleans so I make it worth my while
