Some thief on here about 5 years back named P Alan or maybe  P Allen from down south tried conning a few people on here, i was 1 of them by selling stuff that didnt exist by paying into his bank to not send out. No offence meant, i saw the name which triggeredthe weird question as later found out he only had 1 arm. If you search the name P alan or P allen on here you will prob see.

Funny how old N Collins hasnt been back on. (Im guessing he will real soon though ;D)

Seriously though just pay and advertise and do it properly as your not coming across professional at all with your how great you are speech not turning anyone away!, pay and get a decent website built where your easily found, that way you wont need to come on forums making out your the best thing since sliced bread. Show some happy clients(not just 1 or 2)  that can back up your statements and if the work you target is any good.
I don't think anyone will be as good as Mark Whizzbizz for  canvassing and keeping to his word, he has been out there for 4/5 years now and always is fully booked so id say he is the safest bet to use although you will have a waiting list before he will start but that to me speaks volumes that he has companies queuing up to use him.

The biggest domestic places we clean are all owned by foreigners. Bankers, but foreigners. I wouldn’t cast aspersions about the invaders - they pay good money.

There used to be a one-armed window cleaner work around here.

I don’t know his name, but I used to see him occasionally in a village called Little London between Basingstoke and Reading.

Call me thick but I still don't get why people need to pay out 5-6 times the cost or whatever to get a canvasser in.
It's not that difficult to build a profitable business up yourselves surely?

I haven't been on here since as I'm out trying to build my business, I was only letting other window cleaners know that I had found this company good to deal with, I have nothing to gain from promoting them and if they don't deliver I will let everyone know. It makes no sense to waste time door knocking if you got the money to get a company to get you a lot more work in a short space of time while I'm out cleaning

Not everyone is comfortable with canvassing and leaflets and facebook can take a very long time so a company is ideal to get work fast. Yes it costs a lot of money but so does buying work. Employing your own canvasser on an hourly wage would be the best option but not very easy to find anyone.

Depends where in l live prices are crap.  I can post leaflets and fb all day long but I struggle to get decent prices.  Laat week i had 6 fb enquiriea and only got 1 at my prices. I could have had them all if i went in cheap..With a company they only take on work at the prices I want so its expensive but worth it on the long run. No point building up a cheap round might as well take the hit and look long term.

Yes I would rather pay a canvasser because I'm crap at knocking on doors rather be earning money and paying some out for the work doing for  me.
Each to their own....I could decorate the house myself but I would rather go out and work 2 days and give that 2 days to a decorator.
He'll take 2 days and has all the gear and will do a better job....I will take 2 w/e  days and have to buy brushes etc and not do as good a job.....and to top it all off I'll hate every minute of it.
Impossible done straight away, miracles can take a little longer.
