canvassers very professional
« on: February 13, 2017, 08:07:34 pm »
i have booked  canvassers to build a round for me in march and they have been great to deal with so far and very helpful with advise etc, the fact that they let you clean the work before you pay makes it a lot less risky for me, people in this area are charging 7x for rounds which is a lot of cash,  are starting to cover all the uk now instead of just the south

Modded; looks like spam to me; first post saying how great a canvassing company is.  Do me a favour, if you wish to advertise, contact admin.

If this is gen, hang around a while, post, help, join us in the off-topic area - whatever - but at least try to look like a member, rather than an advertiser.

Iv often thought about using a canvassing service as i have no luck door knocking but leafleting has been very lucky to my round, and when i send my wife out leafleting she allways comes back with a few new jobs. But i worry what sort of work a man who just wants to build a round for you weather its low priced, poop access, just your one off wonder customers is doing for you in the long run? most want 3x what they get you and are long gone once you are 2 months in when you find out.
Be nice to see if this is as good as it sounds and i hope it is and wish you all the best for the future n collin.
Keep me posted as i might consider giving them a go as i will soon have a spear van.

Fair one; maybe you'd like to give a proper review in about four months after they've finished?

Most of the complaints I've read about canvassing companies seems to happen in the following months.

But I'm sure you can understand my suspicion; what with this being your first post.

Apologies for reading it wrongly, and welcome to the forum, 'n' all that.

Yes no probs I can see why you would think that, will def let you know how it all goes, just trying to expand my business and I'm reluctant to pay silly prices to buy a round

Hmmm...so I take it to do that you had to give them admin rights to your cleaner planner account?
If that is the case you must be very trusting.

I spoke to the guy on the phone last night and he sounds ok, he a window cleaner himself and has availability which is good for me.

Im more than likely going to invest in him soon, he knows what good/bad work is and is willing to travel to north wales and stay in humble accomodation to keep costs down.

If all goes well i'll be bringing them up asap and will let everyone know how it goes.

What do they say something about "sounds to good to be true."
What is the catch or con I'm thinking?
Alarm bells would also ring giving a total stranger access to your cleaner planner account surely?

I'm sure I read recently about a guy offering this kind of service, conned a few then got banged up.

I used a few of the well known canvassers. Spend about 6 grand so far. Got some more booked for later this year.

Its pretty much the same deal with them all. They get you the work but cannot control how good a customer they will be in the long run. With the guy I currently use out of the 600 he canvasses me per time I expect 100 to drop off before the first clean the drop offs over the next few cleans as you weed out the non payers and messers.

When all said and done after 6 months if you have half of what was canvassed left you have done pretty well.

It works out about the same as buying as round. About 5-6 times. The good thing is you get to decide where the work is and any stipulations.

A good canvasser will do exactly as you ask I. E no terrace no council no poor access etc.  A crap canvasser will get you any old dross just to get paid.

Sounds good to me.
I used a guy of ebay. Charged x3 cleans. He is a wfp window cleaner. Sounded fine on the phone.
I asked for 1 to 2k of work. He said easy. Off he went. To cut it short, he got £200 of work. He was straight enough. Asked if it was any good to me.
Took it anyway. A few places were out of what area I said, but pricing wasn't bad at all. Most £10 jobs came in at what I would charge, but he got the odd £30 job where i would charge £20. Then the odd WTF was you thinking charging £12 when its more like £20, but 90% was spot on.
3 months on and only lost 1 Asian customer....what did I say
The part I didn't like was handing money over before he gave me the customers/I told him to stick it. Glad it wasn't £2k. No way would I hand over money and get nothing in return. He gave me them and I payed the same evening, AFTER I checked by phoning some.
Paying after first clean is fantastic
