How much would you guys charge for...
« on: January 02, 2017, 08:43:41 pm »
Just called back a text message enquiry. I didn't get the job. I'll tell you much the other three quotes she got where between but I suspect she was talking rubbish.

I offered to go round to give a price but wanted a rough price to compare and I had a space on the day she wanted it done.
How much would you guys charge for two bedrooms, lounge and hall way (decent sized flat but not huge), corner sofa that seats 4 at a push (her words) and two double mattresses. Furnish flat.

p.s.  not a competition to see who's the most expensive. Just genuinely interested to see if I am in the right ball park.

The last couple of years before I retired from the game I would have charged about £360......

going back 15 years I would have charged £150 and been glad of the work...... this was before I started charging more and getting more work..  :o

Same as Mike but nearer £300.00 , hate mattresses but if I did them it would be £50 for single and £80 for 3/4 so all in all £400 ish.
I guess she wanted to pay £100 tops

How does between 80 - 120 grab you? Apparently she got three quotes ranging from 80 to 120. Smells like bs to me though.

Sounds like either bs Tony, or they were from firemen who only do this part time on their down shift...  :o :o

Appreciate the honesty Adam. Depends on your area I suppose but very surprised she managed to find THREE CCs at that price range in Edinburgh. Hence why I think she is talking balls.

Told her to call them quickly before they change their mind. She was shocked at my reply.

Hi Tony,

£90 sofa
£120 carpets
£50 each mattress,

And that would be a January price....!!
