Has this forum seen its day for carpet cleaners?
« on: December 22, 2016, 12:24:37 pm »
I haven't been on this forum for months but I have noticed a serious decline of regular posters on here when I logged back in. There is a vibrant UK Carpet Cleaners group on Facebook which is constantly busy.

Is it because the forum has been opened up so the public can see all posts?

Has this forum seen its day?

Is that group called 'Vibrant Carpet Cleaners ' by any chance as the word vibrant keeps cropping up.

Forums have lost popularity.  FB has given a very viable alternative to forums and they are easier to gain access to and participate in.

I still find that forums are, in general, a better source of information.

I think this forum has seen it's day in general. There's not a right lot of interesting posts in general.

Look at the window cleaning section  just the same old posters squabbling. Hardly anything worth reading.

Theres far better carpet and window cleaning forum out there

So why are you here?

Do I come on here and moan my sex life is poop, no I smack the wife over the head with club and drag her into the bedroom...... That's called taking action, not whinging  like a girls private area( often a slang name for a cat)

Rather than moan  the forum is dead ,  why not post a question or answer another members  question

Actually, I believe YOU could be part of the problem.

When I post a question and answer questions on the Facebook group I always get back a sensible professional answer, by many and quickly.

I post a question on here and you get the answer you gave; sarcastic, unhelpful, nonintellectual response.

Maybe it is time to roll over and let someone else have ago Mr Moderator?

This forum is DEAD and you'll be talking to yourself soon lol

I asked a question on another thread about whether its always needed to agitate a clean carpet and if some CC will just sometimes use an in tank detergent and not prespray on such a carpet.

Now I hope it wasn't a daft question but in 3 days no one has offered a reply.

I would expect a response in a few hours on the FB page.

Why don't the experienced MODs not feel fit to offer a reply? If you get replies many might post more

I think it's pretty arrogant to suggest that just because a few CC have got all precious that a forum has had its day.

There is obviously an issues between those who like and support the TACCA model and those that take real issue with it, personally I have no idea what it's all about and by that I mean TACCA or the dispute however those that take issue felt the need to vent it on here , the forum they say that's had its day and then complained that the forum is dull , which made me smile.  :)

even if the site has become quieter, it definetly has it's use. the information on here is much more usable and real, as well as say in 10 years time, the information on here will still exist, so i can search these forums and find the answers to questions i may have. facebook groups is useless for this. so you'll get the same questions being asked over and over in those groups.

are we not allowed to link to those groups as everyone seems to talk about them as though they are the bad guy from harry potter who shall not be named

Don't concern yourself over it, as you can see by the poor response to the post it did not carry much weight.

The question that was asked 'has the forum seen it's day' and answer was no it's doing just fine but thanks for asking.People will come and go but in general most points get a response and questions raised are answered so continue to use this one and others.

It was just a few people who got their tights all twisted and tried to cause some mischief but failed miserably.

Pretty sure the poor response is the same for every thread.  The guy above who reads everything but never posts is part if the problem.

Well Adam, I am from a few thousand miles from you,  my english  is not very good and if I have nothing smart to say in the matter (regarding cleaning and solutions ☺ ) I would stay quaiet and rather listen and learn from you guys. I buy and use solutions / equipment from your suppliers (with great costs of logistic) but we don't have training courses and that is why I read "everything" . Adam, I don't wish to be a problem ☺ If it helps I can post everyday... but regarding technical isues in the posts what advice can I give to users who are far more skilled and have more experience.

happens on most forums at some time or other, lots of folks read and never post, lots of newbies are a bit nervous abouting being shot down or  asking dumb questions, usually its up to the mods to prod things along when it goes a bit quiet, start a few threads,
liven things up etc etc  but at the end of  the day its up to us all, do we want it or not.........
is it the same on hard floor/window cleaning sections as well???

just an observation , if u look at the two surviving american forums , TMF and MB  , every 5th or so thread is stsrted by rob allen and Mike P to help stimulate the board , also they have features like 'likes' ..'funny ' agree' etc which encourage particpation .
Not complaining to have the use of this forum ' for free ' but it could be more 'up to date ' interactively
CT has a sales agenda to stimulate that  :D

John the admin are in the process of updating the software to include the like -agree type functions  they were looking for ways for members to show appreciation to fellow members who have been particularly helpful with answers.
