Looking to buy  a new  machine but want  a  machine  capable of operating two lances or FSC  at full capacity what do you think would be the minimum spec for such a machine?

I've been looking at this .....



Which has this spec.....

80 LPM / 18 GPM @ 4000psi
Fitted with 80 HP Turbo Diesel engine.

I want a machine that can be heavily used but will be worry free for at least 5yrs, I like the fact it has a huge engine which should handle the work without undue stress.

Any other suggestions on machines?

I've got one - phenomenal - 300 kilos. Mines set up as a solo use but I have a splitter made up if I need two operators.

30HP engine - no stress on the engine, even at full flow.

Why do you need that flow rate?

Hot and smaller would help.

Get a drain jetter and adapt it if you want that flow.

I thought it was 40LPM and was using it with a 2.5metre single  stem lance last night, full throttle - High level work from the ground it was bending the lance back and is a real shoulder work out.

1st time in 3 months I've worked it full throttle.

I think about 7/8 K - that's not a good picture. It looks squashed on there. It's much bigger.

It is on wheels but you wouldn't want to push it around.

It moves in a straight line well but has the turning circle of a cruise ship.

Remarkably quiet as well.

It worked next to a Rapier (diesel) for the last 9 nights and it was much quieter.

I'm having a side door fitted into the box van next week and i've left enough room in line with this and behind the water tank to fit a generator (Kipor 6kva) and diesel burner.

The Brian Nixon machine I posted is £9k +vat,  I was thinking of calling them to get price I  on just the Machine without the tank and  extras,  I don't think the price is bad Considering it has a 80hp water cooled turbo Diesel engine. I have a big twin axle trailer to mount it on.

Do you need it - can you keep it supplied with water.

I've done this for 12 years now and cleaned incredible m2, roofs, car parks, complete stores - all commercial works.

I have never needed anymore than 40 LPM @ 3000psi.

That is overkill and what you may gain on cleaning capacity you will lose on keeping it supplied.

You do domestic, am I right? - You would need to be on Wo's every time you used it.

You could get something like two diesel Zetas @ 30LPM, connect them together if you wanted a bigger flow, with two burners and still have change from your budget.

My reasoning is I now use a 23hp engine driving a 3000psi 38gl pump, this is I think a perfect one man machine. It runs a big FSC  and  with a turbo jet handles any weeds. I want the same performance  in a 2 man machine.
I have the water tanks and trailer to create a set up that should be capable of keeping up with the flow as long as the flow from  the job is not severely limited.

I'm looking towards the next 6-8yrs I want to simplify my life,  I have a unit full of gear,.......pumps, hot boxes,  hot pressure washers, cold petrol pressure washers ...... Tons & tons of crap.  I want one ultra reliable machine sat on the drive that needs very little thought, it just does the job. I want to get rid of my unit

This is why I want a big water cooled Diesel engine , something that will give me long term reliability

There's a Mazzoni boiler coming out in January next year - 40LPM that could be coupled with the ICM contractor.

I shall be buying one.

Everything you would ever need.

You could put the Speck pump on it @ 500 bar.

I've had some serious discussions about the pump and the 30hp engine can easily handle up to around 1000 bar (or thereabouts.)

Go bar and heat and then you don't have to worry about water.

Not if travelling within 100km of home base, carry tools of trade and driving is not the primary activity

Yep...you may well be correct. Although I was given  a caution for not having a flammable liquid sticker on my van for the jerry can of petrol. My national insurance number was checked and I was given  a free MOT. Leaflets and business cards were taken and verified with trading standards. Whoever tows it would need a trailer licence also.
