20/40 advice
« on: November 24, 2016, 07:34:34 pm »
Evening gents. I bought a hf5 20 inch filter from pure freedom in august. I after hearing about my mates enormous water bill I decided to check my waste to pure ratio as I'm on a water meter.
It worked out at 5:1. So I'll be using 6000 liters for 1000 of pure. Is there any way I can change this?
My pressure was about 75psi when I checked during installation.

The cleaner you want it after RO the more you have to stick down the drain if you run it 50 in the tank and 50 down the drain your water won't be as pure after RO. I find a good guesstimate is to put twice the amount to drain as to what's going in the tank my water pressure is 30-40 psi obviously no booster pump but I use an HF5 membrane which makes easily a 1000ltrs in about 8 hours with regularly changed pre filters.

What's your tap tds ? at around 300ppm a 4040 should be running at around the 50/50 mark or at worst 40/60 there's no way
you should be running at 17/83 somethings very wrong.

Tap tds is 220. I've tried playing with the dial for flushing but it's on the slowest waste setting....
