Used it all last week and it's been such a useful thing. Makes that one aspect so much easier. An example. Finishing as it's getting dark on Tuesday and we're tired. Both had hose out 100m in opposite directions. Me with my electric reel has it in half the time and with no effort whatsoever. Left me to get some slips through the door so we could be off.
People were joking about the hassle and just buying one off supplier ready made. But like me others have found you can spend very little compared to the powerup and have something that does the same job.
Its not even hassle tho, just takes a little bit of figuring out. I reckon i could knock up a claber reel in about 30 mins now. And at £40 for 2 remote control reels...ill take a bit of time to figure it all out
(would cost about £70 if i hadnt been sent wrong motors...even so £70 would be a steal!)
End of day, as with my WFP systems, id much prefer to make them up myself rather than get someone to make them, as if theres a problem, 9 times outta 10 you can fix them yourself without any hassle. I did have a system made for me last year, but i prefer mine to be honest. But as said these reels really arent that hard after making them up. Cog, chain...motor. Bit of drilling, jigging, and wiring. Done. So simple.
