All done  ;D

Thought of a possibly better way to do this. The flat end part on the belt drive is pretty much the same thickness as the chain cog. Cut the flat part off, and hammer the chain cog on, would be perfectly spaced then, and could still put the spring clip back on after.

Why not just buy the parts you need from them as would save all the messing about trying to save a few quid surely?
https://www.waterworkswindowcleaning.co.uk/power-up-add-on-gen-2.html

Once I got the right motor with a chain cog it's all been very easy. I have saved around £160 and really enjoy tinkering like this when get the time so win win.

Will tidy the wiring and fit a fuse while I have some time off over the next week or so. Can't believe how perfect the speed is for our application with the parts I got. And the torque is just right that it can be stopped without taking a hand off or ripping things apart. 👍🏻 Keep trying those without the right motor. Well worth it I would say for £40 and doesn't take much to get it working.

Took a vid although I didn't intend to upload it so isn't the best filming 😂😂 ;D

Just finished mine ( as I lost the chain split pin ), working a  treat  ;D Its the right torque and happy with the speed. I'll post a video tomorrow. I ended cold welding the cog onto the shaft with JB Kwik weld. It sets like steel, sets in 6 mins and cures in 6 hours.  The sprocket on the reel is a little bit out, but it works fine. Well pleased. It even pulls out most of the kinks in the hose. Got all the bits again and gonna do my boys over christmas hols.  Got there in the end  ;) ;D

Can't wait till christmas is over and use it in the big wide world !!.....pmsl

Why was it mentioned you need a relay with the remotes? I dont really understand relays.

I only needed a relay as I used a winch remote, which has a hand held remote and a smaller remote. I've stuck the larger remote in the van, close to the reel and the smaller remote I will carry with me. I think it was Spruce who pointed out that a winch has a solenoid in it ( which this type of remote connects to  ( for the in and out motion)). I just bought a standard relay and connected it all up an it works a treat. I have all the info written down. I'll try to get a vid up :)

oh and I used a relay with built in fuse

LWC thats prety much what i did with mine exept i removed the belt pulley and did all the cutting in the vice. the other thing you have to do is grind down the very end of the teeth on the pulley as they are the same size as the chain drive sprocket causing the chain not to fit properly, if you get what i mean.
I will go and take a pic of mine so you can see.

i did contact the seller and they said to send photos, but I'd already pulled it apart and fitted the chain drive sprocket and mounted the motor, so i could not be bothered.

Xtreme toys offered a full refund and said the chain driven are now old stock ???, I've modified it now, so won't be sending it back. Its been easy enough, pull the pulley off, order the cog, push fit it on and secured with JB weld. Did my second one today, Getting good at it now, only one more to do for my partners van. Think I'll use the ebay link above, but I did get a notification saying he is running out of stock...............................I wonder who could be buying all these cog motors.....lol    ;D ;)

Here's a few pics for those of you who have the H5 reel, showing how the cog is fitted, and used 3 nuts behind the cog to space it away from the reel.  Also, those that use the 2 channel remote.
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/DC-12V-2CH-Channel-Wireless-RF-Remote-Control-Switch-Transmitter-Receiver-/281999443462?hash=item41a87a0606:g:ApMAAOSwjMJXCmkX

It is not a simple case of plugging in + and -  from power and then plugging in motor. Both the transmitter and motor need power and then a jumper wire. I'll post a pic, but its all working fine now on the second van.

I used 25mm M6 bolts and nuts.

Mines all done and installed today.

Speed is perfect.  Torque is fine, can stop it with hand if needed but pulls in nicely.

Wanna use it on a house

He's had the wrong stock delivered and making up a story.
I've seen a toothed belt but not the large pulley yet.
