We allow for one day a week of bad weather, and stick 20% on to our prices to compensate this.  So when it rains we have the day off.Our choice. Some people dont mind working in the wet, I do!!

When it rains heavily, it'll pick up poop on the walls and dump it on the glass. Doesn't bother me as I my brush is 8 months old and does a poor job regardless of precipitation.

They're all on £200+ plus per day but "clean" windows in the rain because they can't afford a day off

ive got over £10,000 in emergency fund savings but i still like to get out and work to keep on schedule.i like earning the money mate.

whats the difference between cleaning windows when its dry and 2 hours later its hammering it down and blowing a gale?it happens a lot more frequently in the autumn/winter months.no difference whatsoever!im still cleaning a months/2 months dirt off the windows regardless of other dirt blowing on them so they ll still be cleaner than they were. ;)

i used to skip whole weeks due to bad weather when i was trad(and guess what?i was also skint at times!)that now i work and earn at least £800-£1200 by going out and doing my normal 5-6 hour a day stint.5 days a week.

most time off  now is scheduled time off(holidays, xmas, etc).

its the best way of running a one man business IMO.
price higher/work harder!

Its a wonderful place this forum for liars, boasters, fantasists and the insecure. You can say what you want, its great!

As I said before some idiot deleted my post, I knew somebody who used to supply some of the clowns on here. They drove crap cars, lived hand to mouth and couldn't receive credit. Confirming my description.

If you clean carpets with your head it's no wonder you decided to give window cleaning a try. Use a brush, not your scalp. It'll do wonders for your complexion.

Strange but when I clean my windows in decent weather or even light rain they come up perfect, I cleaned them once in the wind and rain using the usual technique and guess what, they were a mess. If I replicated these poor results onto my customers  I would be of the view that my customers were receiving a bad service and poor value for money, hence the reason I choose not to clean in these conditions. My business, my choice.

I aggree, in heavy rain/wind its go home time otherwise will get complaints and have to redo anyway.

I see Slack Bladder likes to hand it out a bit.
Been doing the windows for about 14 years now as an add on.....carpet cleaning is great but your stuck indoors all day.....nice in Summer to get outside for a change.
It's also great for last minute carpet cancellations .

Yes its the same old nonsense, if they're not puffing out their chests blowing about earnings they're blowing about
working in horrendous weather conditions.
Next week they will be bragging about being able to get the higher earnings by offering a better service than the five quid
cheapo who has to work in all weather conditions just to keep afloat.
I work for me to my standard and if I believe the windows wont be clean when the customer picks up my posted clean slip then I
wont be cleaning that day, I don't care what the weather does after that because its beyond my control.
Price right, don't fill your round to busting, work to yearly targets instead of from day to day and missing a few stormy days
wont be a major concern.
