« on: November 09, 2016, 11:41:48 am »
Hi everyone I'm having a problem with my hose reel connection the hose going from the pump to the reel will keep flying off from the reel end, it will do it more when I turn the pump on and then unreal the hose I have a uni valve fitted on my pole so could it be a build up of pressure somewhere I have swapped my hose reel for another and it's still doing it any ideas would be appreciated

Probably the connector on the hose as opposed to the reel., if it were me I'd look for an alternative to hoselock etc. I use these:

I replaced the plastic connector on my clover leaf reel with a brass one

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BRASS-3-4-THREADED-TAP-CONNECTOR-FITS-HOZELOCK-1-2-SNAP-FITTINGS-GARDEN-HOSE-/141772195318?hash=item21024805f6:g:1mYAAOSwEetV80s-

and use a Hozlock plastic connector on the hose. I use the Hozlock with 3 securing lugs as they are better. I always had issues with the connectors which just 2 lugs.

These connectors do wear out over time, especially when you wind in and pull out your hose when the reel in under pressure.

I've had a similar problem in the past with pressure building and causing leaking and connector to hose reel coming adrift.
After much head scratching I decided to change the pump pressure switch.
Problem solved.
