I'm sat pondering what time i should go out and do a bit what with the frost and all. I would normally wait for the temp to rise and mother nature defrost the gutters for me. However in doing so manly a job I've turned up at in the past and in the end had to use ladders to clear the frozen gutters out by hand instead of using a guttervac. Some properties I've found  one side has defrosted ok but the other side of the property still being rock solid. That's not great to get to  awkward parts of guttering that you can't set the ladder safely either.  Hence why my question  ;D

Why don't you go now while it's still frozen, lift it out in one piece (5 mins - including travelling??) and get yourself back home and back on here.

Got to have saved you some time there surely?

I've off to  look at how last nights SS clean went at the store, despite finishing at 3 this morning.

Problem is i'm on a bit of a fitness regime at the moment (trying to get into my Speedos for my winter holiday, in two weeks time) and I'm going to be walking from the hotel. 3.5 mile to the store, mostly downhill and then obviously 3.5 back, mostly uphill.

I don't recommend walking in Plymouth.

On target to complete the SS in under ten days, with only one more full shift on it (7 in total) and used less chemical than expected.

Results - where it wasn't rusted and heavily water stained, causing lifting to the edges and around the tech screws it has cleaned up well, giving a brighter appearance to the storefront

I'm working on the fuel station canopy fascia tonight, back on the SS tomorrow and then a small section (small to me) of store cladding that will get me back on the M5 no later than early afternoon on Thursday.

Now that lots made it a more interesting topic  - eh?

To keep it on topic I would stay where you are and wait for it to turn back to a liquid state

Indeed...

Outside temp has risen from -1 to 3.8 now and rising. I've informed customer I will be over about 11 then see what the gutters are like.  As the job includes FSG's will probably start arse about face and softwash all the plastics first then rinse down using hot tap or pure water.

Do you like a bit of music Smurf - I imagine you 'bopping' round your front room, Daniel O Donnell blaring out, annoying the neighbours?

Bit of an R&B fella myself, just charged up the Ipad mini, slip it into the rucksack, headphones on and Jaheim or Toni Braxton keeping me company on the trek.

GrippaVac has a hot blower on it. Just attach your hose and defrost it :)

I'm worried about you - this must be the longest that you haven't posted something.

Your tongue doesn't hang out of the corner of your mouth does it and it's got stuck on the ice or have you fell off/over one of those many ladders and attachments..

I managed 2 hours for the 7 miles and got back to watch Judge Rinder but it's not on.

On topic, i love it when its frozen and using ladders. Strategically place garden bin under end cap of gutter. Remove end cap and set ladders at the other end and a quick push, all slides out into the bin. Job done, hand money over and away i go.

Oh yes the end cap trick...Bit hard to do if say mid terrace properties, awkward corners, 3 storey up etc all the same.

Today the gutters were still frozen solid so I decided to run hot tap water through them first. Then sucked the crap out and flush through again afterwards. Cheapo portable gas water heaters do come in handy sometimes  ;D
