I was is in the same boat and decided on the 40/40 route. My only regret is i didn't do it sooner.it's hard to explain but there has been numerous scenarios this year where a 40/40 would have been a real life safer.I have always used a static system but it was a PPB system and took an hour to "pump on" to my van. So now i just use PPM water and 32mm pipe and fill 850L tank in around 5 mins.40/40 and fast pump for the win!
Our friends from accross the pond tend to use 4040 portible setups for pure on demand so they don't need to cart loads of water about. Over here most either go for a static or onboard which both have there pro's and con's but not many use both.
Can I ask what size van tank do you have?
I do use Daqua but i went with Vyair in the end.It came in cheaper with a stainless steel housing and some better fittings.Been told that vyair might use a cheaper membrane but Sam who i deal with is faultless. The Ro has been producing 1500L a day 5/6 days a week and has been absolutely faultless. 425PPM - 475PPM in @ 65 psi -70 psi tap pressure produces 11PPM -13PPM at around 120l - 150L per hour.
current setup 4040 , around 400 ppm in, 35psi tap pressure boosted to 100-120 psi gives 6 lpm at 8ppm. Ratio 50/50 roughly.
