All very tame. Where's SeanK? Chumbucket is back under a new name. I'll see if I can draw them out by posting my milestone in a day or two when I reach it.

Funny isn't it. Not a peep, because someone is doing well for themselves.

I think most people are just bored of hearing the success stories, I know I am.
If people really feel the need to tell the world how great their life is,  let them do it. Their lives have absolutely no influence on my life, so what's the point in praising them, or indeed berating them.
I have a 100 ideas on ways I could expand my business to new heights, but I'm happy and content enough already in my life, so choose not to follow through with those ideas. I think the same goes for alot of others on here.
The only reason I criticise 'the million dollar babies' on here is I find their urge to tell the world 'how great their life is', slightly repulsive.
True inspiration comes from 'within', and not from some window cleaner down in Swindon.

But you telling me that you are content to stay a "one man band" doesn't irritate me so why should someone telling others that they are reaching their goals "repulse" you? It suggests that whatever has come to you from "within", it isn't contentment.

So you're not easily pleased.

Why don't you start a discussion about business failures and unsecured contracts?

 :(

If you are fed up and repulsed by reading success stories don't open threads titled "Getting there!".

Simples.

Why should I be pleased??
The dude reached his goals, big deal, whoopdy whoo, good for him.
Why not just give himself a pat on the back and get on with his life.
Everyone has goals in life, few feel the need to tell the world everytime they achieve them.

I'm not repulsed by others achievements, I'm repulsed by their need to seek recognition for it.

Look up the meaning of 'seeking recognition', then you might see what's wrong with those quotes you posted.
What's funny is most of you million dollar babies' think me, chumbucket, seank etc are being negative, when that's far from the truth. We are happy ( well I am, not sure about seank ;D) and reward our own achievements with SELF recognition'. We have no desire to be recognised by others for our life achievements because we are happy for ourselves. There is no better happy then your OWN happiness.
Which is why I'm repulsed by the need to seek recognition'.

i don't think that people who are genuinely happy would be 'repulsed' by other peoples success

It's true though. If you were content and happy in yourself, you would not be bothered by such threads.

You guys asked for this did you not? You were clearly seeking opinions, I obliged and gave you the reasons why seank and chum have not responded. Those reasons are clear, it's boring and repulsive that a grown man has to seek recognition', likewise of a child, for everything he achieves.
We've made those opinions clear, yet everytime a thread like this is started you guys almost seek out these opinions once more. The reason for that? Even negative attention is attention, exactly why these threads are started😉

It's a shame that someone can't come on to an industry forum to discuss the direction and successes of his business without being called repulsive. I think it's a British mentality thing, I wouldn't imagine the yanks would be so petty and small minded.

Go luck to you.

Have you actually read most of the thread?

Lee Pryor comes out of his hole every now and again to give it the big one, knowing full well he's going to get slaughtered.
Anyone who starts a thread just to talk about the value of their own life doesn't really value themselves at all. Only once their being 'acknowledged', in a positive or even negative way, do they feel valued.

Anyone who wants to run a large, successful business, I say good luck to them. Absolutely nothing wrong with it If that's what truly makes them happy. But for Christ's sake have some humility.
Of course be proud of yourself for what you've achieved, and use your knowledge to help others. There's just absolutely no reason to gloat.
I don't care what anyone says, this thread was set up for one purpose, so the op could hear "well done lance". ::)roll ugh

It is just you three. Happy people don't denigrate others and frankly Chumbucket seems unbalanced to me.
