aqua clean trolley (got one?)
« on: May 26, 2006, 12:57:00 pm »
hi anyone out there got peter fogwell's trolley system if so.
any good?
how do you rate his auto brush save much water and battery power?
are the unger poles up to the job?
i am looking to go wfp at some point been sitting on fence due to hose pipe bans and possible drought orders but have seen good news from fwc, also heard rain levels seem to be getting back to normal. (i live essex)
I'VE GOT FORD ESCORT VAN thought aqua trolley would suit as barres slot straight in unlike time spent refilling omni trolley.

Hi lee - I have just built a trolley last week (2x30ltr) and its for sale at £450 including pump, varistream, 18ft pole and a battery.  If you need an ro unit I can supply them too.

I can email pictures if you like.

why dont you build your own machine lee as many of us have done on this site. Hey its a learning curve, but if your not sure look at all options. I can build you a trolley system for a small fee cheers

hi jinky i use the omniramps to get the trolley in and out of the van and really dont have a problem it is a fantastic peice of kit i have been using it for 7 months and it has made my job a dream , i wouldnt fill it unless i was working downhill then it will last if doing upstairs only over 3 hours .
i am 100% domestic and i do full streets of houses so i might park the trolley on 1 drive and do 3 houses from that 1 position also unlike the 50 ltr version which i also have the 125ltr trolley is more stable ,ie the 50 ltr version can catch your heel when pulling it or if you go roubd a corner too fast it can turn over , none of these problems happen with the `125ltr version.
the thing i like about the 125ltr trolley which i use ( my son uses the 50 ltr version ) is its size ,the gap between the hosereel and the trolley is just enough so that when you use 30mtr of hose you can just scoop it up in you hands and rest it in between the hose reel and the trolley instead of winding it in after every job then when you get to the next job you just lift tho 30mtre of ( microbore hose ) off the trolley and carry on it only takes seconds .
the only time i wind the hose back in is when it is time to put it back in the van

any questions dont hesitate to ask as these trolleys are the buisiness

gary thanks for that it is exactly the answers  I was looking for , tried the backpacks etx and thought the 25lt and 50 lt trolleys were just too small for daily working full streets at a time, wish I had bought the 125 trolley to start with, but when you start a lot of cash is spent getting it right,

how is the trolley for weight when empty, glad you got back to me just confirms that the extra water carried saves loads of time

I had to design my system   for 4 operators who work seperately, so no other route looked the route to go but this does

what do you get in the package with this trolley?

The site is a bit vague to my mind, lacking a detailed description and the site pics are also not self explanatory. What else do you need to buy to get out there?

anyone using one in the southwest?

In the Aquatec "package" You get the trolley/200 GPD RO and an aluminium unger pole. So.. you will need 25ltr containers and a water butt of some sort.

The Omnipole trollies are sold on their own so you will need the rest of the kit.

Hope this helps

Andrew

hi jinky230

you will not be able to pick the trolley up on your own not even empty . we either pick it up between us or i have the omniramps which are great and i can get the trolley in and out of the van on my own easily .you could use 2 peices of decking with side on as ramps but i prefer the omniramps.when i pull the trolley i only use one hand and i carry my 18rt extender pole in the other hand easily

gary I know you use both trolleys the 50lt and the 125lt, do you recon the 125
is better because you dont lose time filling or is the 50lt  better as you dont have as much weight to push

is the 125lt like a large motorbike once you get it going it is easy to push along

imagine using a motorbike as an example , this lot is going to pound me

Speaking of motorbikes, I know a guy who has converted his sidecar into a wfp system, says its really dodgyto ride with a half full tank - psycho!

i like the 125 trolley because you can put 50ltrs in it or 125ltr depending on what you need with the 50ltr my son will have to refill before me but also like i have said on another post there is some room where the hose reel meets the trolley and i just scoop the hose up and put it in that gap , with the 50ltr version the gap isnt there so you have to reel the hose in after every job , my son prefers to reel it in and i prefer to scoop the hose up it is what we
have got used to

as for weight if you fill it and start to go up a slight hill you will be ok if you are not walking 100s of yards if it is a long way it would get tireing depending on your age i suppose im 42

thanks gary I thought it wasbuilt to be used in most situations, if I had a steep hill a good bit away I guess you would just load it up and move it that way.

a few chaps I have spoke to in the district use backpacks on trolleys and the water amount is always an issue, reloading just puts you off your stride, and can eventually deter you from wfp
