What a load of nonsense. Since when does pressure washing or controlled pressure washing kill lichens, it night knock the clumps of mosd off but certainly wont kill at the root cause of lichens. Its just his sales speil which the gullable public might believe

The only reason why firms started  to pressure wash roof tiles here in the UK  to remove moss etc is that it's just quicker to do and no other reason if you ask me. Old school roofers have been removig moss etc off roofs by hand then treating them with a biocide for donkey years.

After reading that scarmongering artical I did have a laugh as first thing I noticed opening one of the vids on that site was a chap on a roof blasting the crap out of the tiles with a turbo nozzle... Low pressure my arse

Well to be honest he has a point about the American roofs being made of wooden or ashphelt shingles, you wouldn't pressure wash those .
I don't know how you convince your customers to go soft wash as 80 percent of ours want to see instant results and a biocide applied after.
Can you also explain the damage a controlled pressure wash does to the roof tiles? For instant rosemary tiles. My family have been in roofing for over 60 years and in that time I've seen and handled many tiles, have you ever tried nibbling and cutting roof tiles? I would say that most of them are more robust than many patio slaps that you would happily pressure wash .
I think you should leave this guy alone ! As far as I can see the danger of pressure washing a roof is from directing the flow up and under the tiles and not using the right equipment when accessing the area
Also while I'm at it this forum seems to have been taken over by a few posters that seem to enjoy belittling and mocking people who come on here for help and advice. Used to be a good, early days I learnt a lot from knowledgable posters on here and  enjoyable the banter ! No wonder it's dying and and others are moving to 'secret ' groups

What makes you think soft wash doesnt give instant results.
Soft wash compared to clumping around on someones roof, then turbo nozzeling tiles then biocide....sounds like a lot of work to convince the client that its worth spending big bucks with the likes of that. Clever marketing if you ask me. Why not...

In addition, i think you could find that people on here are just expressing themselves as a result of the slur on them by the advertisement/statement in question. A little bit how your defending him and also adding fuel to their arguements.

Shall we start with a little recap ?

When I was a member on here a few yrs ago I received an email from Tony Edwards. However Tony, if that is his real name, decided to use someone else's email address and name  ...  I just happened to guess and realise it was  him. He was after any help in ref to cleaning roofs, as he covers the same area we cover and he lied I had no intention in helping him. Well from then on Tony on CIU  would jump in on the odd occasions to try and cause problems and stir. 

You would assume at some stage he actually liked some of the info I provided on here hence the reason to contact me ?

It's all a shame really as we work with other local window cleaners , sharing job leads etc, if he had approached us differently maybe we could of worked something out

Any how back to this Post,
Why start a post about a company who cant even defend themselves as they are no longer members on this dying forum? I was told about it by another member hence had to rejoin ! I assume you are all aware that the public can now see this forum

The article  itself has been on our website for over a year! Nothing new, I basically created it along with the Hypo article to show our company opinion. So why create a post now ?

A few on here seem to disagree with it ?

So its been on your article for a year, i for one quite frankly dont use my spare time in checking peoples websites out, do you?
Therefore on this forum it has been brought to our attention and we are free to express our thoughts within the guidelines as set by this forum. Your feeling defensive over your article and these posts as many perhaps feel defensive at the first slur as seen via your article. I just high lighted how unprofessional you are. Soft washing is a great service but maybe it doesn't line your pockets as well as you want.

I put my customers first and provide what's best for them even if that means it's the cheapest option.

I don't resort to scaremainering in order to maximise my profits. We can  all see thru your ridiculous article let's hope the public do.

One day your unprofessional attitude will come back to bite you in your arse, while the rest of the guys who are soft washing pick up more of your business.

Now go leave the forum again 😘
