Can you charge an auxiliary battery from the mains while the battery is hooked up and in use? I'm on a large commercial job all week without moving the van during the day. By 1pm today it was starting to lose pressure and displaying battery low on flow controller.

you could but i dont think H&S wise its a good idea buy a second battery and swap over during the day

Stick a battery charger on it overnight and it will be fine,

Im using a 140Ah. Charged it all day yesterday. It's only a couple years old  but maybe on its way out. The cells didn't look great when I checked if it needed topping up. Got it on charge again now overnight. It's probably only been charged from mains 3 or 4 times since new as I've been getting by with the split charge relay.

Wouldnt pose a problem for me, as i use a solar panal on top of van and on less sunnier days like today, a back up solar panal that i stick on as well.
Charging whilst working or if ive pulled up for lunch etc, park in direct sunlight and battery nicely topped up by time ive finished my lunch. I dont find i have to worry about the charge in battery.

I think your battery has had it, on an overnight charge you should get a good eight hours or more.

your battery is on the way out , today we were on a solar farm , to pumps full tilt all day and no need to start the van at all some I would say its seen better days

Where did you pick up your solar charger from? Is it a plug and play? Cost? I don't fancy buying a new battery as my van and system comes in February

Get a battery from the scrappy mine cost £10 and can last a year needs charging every night like

I have no problem using customers power if/when required to charge the battery and carry on working at the same time if need be.
