Gardiner goose neck valve
« on: September 17, 2016, 02:28:59 pm »
Has anyone ordered on line from their website yet?

I am trying to but it keeps asking me to specify an option but I can't seem to find what option and how to specify it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

There was a small hitch with the product page a couple of days ago, but this should be resolved now. You may need to refresh your cache on your browser before trying to order again  :)

Hi Alex
Thanks for the reply but still cannot order also have the same question raised when I try to order a smart clamp lever set.

I have tried on another device too.

I'll ring the office tomorrow if I have no joy later.

Regards

Colin

Very strange as these items have all been ordered by others over the weekend from the website.

I got a univalve other week and  find it a great bit of kit. Well impressed with it and is ideal when using trolley or backpack. I might give one of these a go also.

My only problem is trying to get my angle adaptor out. I swear it has welded itself inside the pole.

Obviously univalve is suited more for my carbon gooseneck. Both  items will have  their place in the toolbox.

I've got both.
The univalve works with a swivel gooseneck , but it's snatchy at height and leaks from the bottom.
Alex's valve will not work with the swivel and is a bit too stiff to operate, it may loosen with use.
As had been said they both have a place.

If you are having trouble getting an older angle adaptor out then one trick is to let it soak in cold water for a few hours.

The Gooseneck Valve can be loosened in its operation by undoing the side Allen key grub screws slightly.

My Gooseneck valve was too tight to operate properly. Before I sent it back I took it apart and found that the cylindrical inner part with the seals on it had an imperfection at the very top near the white valve surface that was interfering with the smooth operation of the unit. I trimmed it off carefully with a Stanley knife and reassembled the unit and it worked perfectly. So if you have a really tight one it might be worth a look. Mine worked flawlessly all day today and I used it with a Q-Loq swivel with no problems.

If you do take it apart, be careful not to lose the two small springs or the small ball bearings. When reassembling it if you have any silicon grease to hand put a little in the grooves that the bearings slide in. This should also help loosen it a bit.

Thank you. Would love to see a picture of it with the swivel

You need to check your connections, univalve shouldn't leak, neither of mine do but had to play about with fittings

Here you go Tony. A couple of pics

Had another successful day with it today.  Even worked on a couple of awkward reaches over conny roofs.
I think the reason it works with the swivel is that the GValve and the swivel operate on different axis. It's working for me anyhow.

what is the weight? Thanks

Regular Q-Loq Gooseneck angle adapter = 102g (no brush fitting)

Q-Loq  Gooseneck valve angle adapter = 141g (no brush fitting)

Remember if you are using the regular one with a Univalve you would have to add the weight of the Univalve. There's not much between the two combinations weight wise. It certainly wasn't noticeable in use.
