Smell on lounge carpet after cleaning

Hi all cleaned a carpet last Tuesday 06th  and customer reported there was a smell like sweaty socks coming from the carpet , carpet was slightly damp when finished was done in afternoon on 06th and was bone dry the next day the cutomer said. the ventilation  was very poor in the room. Cleaned it with prochem fiber fresh rinse in tank. Customer says carpet is like new just the smell any suggestions  ?? Regards thanks in advance paul

The fibers may feel dry but the backing may still be damp or even underlay .

Give it another couple of days as its been very humid , it should clear , if not follow John kelly advice in thread smell  below

Couldn't smell it when I walked in to the customers home today in till u got on your hands and knees and put my nose to it , smelt like wet dog I've put my Airmover in the room , see  if this helps. Thanks

I had the exact same issue some years ago. I tried all sorts and it turned out it was the fabric in the cheap carpet. I had someone go out to the carpet and that was their verdict. I've never had it since thou.

I had the same about 3 weeks ago it can take a couple of days to go if you Google it its common.
