Go cardless question
« on: August 27, 2016, 07:04:39 pm »
Hi all,  does go cardless pass on every individual transaction onto your business account or can you transfer the funds yourself after funds have built up ? Thank you in advance

Individual.

What you can do is leave all the payments until the end of the week. Then start them off on the Friday.

So you have to pay go cardless and the scandalous amount per transaction that my business account charges. At least with paypal you can withdraw a bundle of money

I'd change banks if you're getting charged per transaction.

Santander is £7.50 monthly with no other charges as far as I'm aware

Once a week? Can't be a lot 25p? Gonna be less than £20 a year.

Or just change banks.

I pay £7.50 a month. That's it.

Yes. You could do it so you receive 1 payment a week as a lump sum.

If you are having to pay for transactions into your bank you need to change banks or at least ask your bank if there is a better account available there.

Banks are modded.

same with Barclays mixed payment plan.

I still have the original letter.

"Don't worry you sucker with your loyalty reward you wont be much worse off"

Old charges £19- £23 per month
New charges £87-£90 per month
- 87p Loyalty reward.

I actually went into local Barclays and gave them 87p back and cancelled the account.

Some banks really do extract the urine!

How the hell can they justify charging you £90 a month when some offer free banking.

I'm guessing they've decided that they don't particularly want our type of business.

I don't mind paying for a service from the bank but the RBS put my charges up 1000% and tried to say it was for my benefit as the charges are supposedly simpler.

I think it's only a matter of time that all banks charge for online transactions TBH.

That's when a weekly GC payment would be handy.

It was £90 because they were charging £1.50 a cheque!!!!!!!!!! Instead of 45p ! I was so angry.

You charge your customer then 5 working days later it's in your bank. It's up to you how often you do it. I do mine once a week so I get one payment into the bank every week.

Rich,

GoCardless isn't like a holding bank account where you accrue funds to be drawn at you leisure.

There is a set timeframe from the beginning of each transaction. Once the funds have cleared into their account they then pay this money to you after X amount of days. (3 I think). You cannot chose when to have the money transferred.

Like has been said. Just start a bulk of transactions each week and you'll get a lump some every time instead of doing it daily.

For those of you that have changed bank surely
It's a right pain for those customers that have you
Account details set up already. I'm with natwest and
They are going to triple my bill.
