I bought some from the potty mouthed dealer on facebook a long time ago - don't use them - never really trust them to be honest. Don't even bother with a pad on a Gardiners scraper.

Bronze wool pads have been around for years way before the facebook groups they do work excellent and for less than £10 imo well worth having in your van

Nice one Julian. Can I ask where you get them from as I take it they are 9x6 pads cut down?

Smurf, they are just Gardiner scrapers with the pad cut down and zip tied, they may not look great but they do a job.

I cut the pads to fit the scraper then get the Mrs to stitch up the cut edges so they don't fray

Excuse my ignorance but whats so good about Bronze pads as compared to an ordinary green pad?

Fine bronze wool (0000) is so fine it will not scratch glass unlike the added risk of using a scraper.
Green pads are not "none-scratch" so are not meant to be used on glass really.

I've used bronze wool 0000 before but not bronze wool pads for wfp work hence why I was asking if the 6x9 pads, pad holder kit from da components sell were any good or not. Or is there an alternative supplier/wholesaler anybody knows of that I can get them from?

Thanks.

I've taken a quick look on fleebay and to be honest the price including postage from the states works out about 20 squid just for one pad which also seems a rip off to me too  http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BRONZE-WOOL-PAD-POLISHING-PAL-6X9-MARINE-CLEAN-POLISH-GLASS-TILE-BUFF-USA-/221712358257?hash=item339f161b71:g:L5AAAOSwDNdVyneV

The chap is selling them on fleebay too http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Da-Multi-Tool-WFP-Attachment-Bronze-Wool-Pad-Water-Fed-Pole-Fits-Unger-Phoenix-/191951283040?var=491071354618&hash=item2cb1302360:m:mhDhGZWu1JticqK-aMmkeBg

By the time you pay for one pad about 20 including delivery on the fleebay link i posted earlier surely you might as well buy the kit  for 40 inc delivery without an donour plastic angle adapter as we have all got spares kicking about?

I can see the advantages of a wider flat 6x9 bronze wool pad holder myself if/when required that can fit onto a wfp so thought I would ask if anyone uses one and if they were any good or not that's all.

Thinking outside of the box I wonder what it would work like to stick a rinse bar on it as well as would then be I guess a one pass multi tool that can deep clean and polish the glass as you wash it without the need for a brush at all? ;D
One for H-Man to try I'm thinking   ::)roll
