I am 67 and still working every day. Maybe a couple of reps with the dumbells every day would service you arms  and shoulders better. I don`t buy poles on weight only I look for stiffness on higher poles and under 30 foot this weight has no effect. Now for the ass that says try an aluminum  Brodex pole, please shove the one up your, you know what.

Going in the gym stops you getting old  ???
Why didn't someone tell me this when I was 21!!!

I know people in their forties who're old.  They look old, they act old; physically and mentally they're old.

And I know other people in their forties who look great and are as fit as a fiddle.  I know a 76 year old who runs marathons; he'd probably beat most 21 year olds.

'Old' is a mental and physical state that's not necessarily dependant on purely your age.

Ah, Tosh. What b******s you speak.

At 46 I'm fitter and stronger now than when I was 32 and in the army.  That's a fact.

Just because you're an auld impotent knacker with the heart and lungs of a 90 year old doesn't mean I'm talking b******s.

Here, try this book; it may improve the quality of your wretched life and prolong it too:

No need to thank me. ;D

No, it's not stupid at all; only to you, who has the mental capacity of an unhealthy brain-damaged-tree-frog.

I suspect that your brains biological age is all choked up with plaque (that's not just the stuff on yer teeth); like your arteries, which is why you're struggling to comprehend the concept.

Sorry about that.  :'(

I don't think it's a difficult concept to understand, Soupy, so I'll just assume you're purposely being obtuse:

If you want to base your understanding in reality; we're all the same age as the universe since everything that makes us was originally formed during the Big Bang; so we're all about 13 billion years old.

Here are some things that make me feel old:

My niece starting high school.
Radio 1
The internet turning 25

Now, all the star jumps, squats and Jane fonda aerobic modded on earth aren't going to change that. These things make me feel old.

It's generally believed that (pinnacle athletes aside) you can reach optimal fitness well into your 50s and 60s, fitness however isn't youth.

You keep telling yourself that you're getting younger Tosh.

Modded.

Stronger and fitter but no younger, the thing is Soupy is right, an overweight unfit teenager could be outperformed by a sixty year old runner it doesn't mean that sixty year old has the body or the fitness of a teenager.
Exercise keeps you fit and a fit body tends to fight age related conditions better but the age is still there, stop exercising at 50/60
for a month and see how hard it is to get back into it compared to a 30 year old.

So 'old' is based on your feelings eh?

So if you're feeling like a 25 year old, when you're 45, based on your analogy of feelings, then you're 25.

I don't think we're disagreeing over too much; you're old because you think you're old.  You think you're old because you feel old; in a real sense you're saying 'old' is based in your thinking and feelings, and these things aren't inherently based upon chronological age.

Being fitter and stronger - being able to get fitter and stronger - gives you a sense of power (over yourself) and makes you feel younger.

That's a fact based on my experience.

I do find that my recovery time now is far longer than when I was in my early twenties.  Then I could get a beasting (I'm ex army) and the next day I'd be fine.

Not so these days; rest and recovery are really important.

No. Old is based on how long I've been here. Fitness and feelings are something else. Radio one makes me feel old but not as old as you.

Extreme 25ft pole
Xtreme stiff brush
Replace the last 60m of your main hose with Gardiners Reinforced Pole hose.
Pilates Classes
Lovely job tell yer mum  ;D
[/quote

robbo do you use the extreme stiff as your everyday brush ??
i considered it but saw some negatives on here but got one anyway & used it all  last week, took a bit of getting used to the feel on the glass but beats all my other brushes for speed especially on spider webs & corners hands down
