Can you hear the thermostat click?

Is the flow switch sticking?

Fuel pump?

Fuel filter blocked?

But every time mine stopped working it was the ignitors / electrodes ( don't know the correct name)  that were faulty...... it always was proceeded by fuel building up in the chamber then finally igniting with billowing black smoke coming out of the chimney.

Thanks Mike, I will take a look maybe tomorrow and check the things you suggested.
Mind I not very good at this sort of stuff so may need some help along the way.

Earlier I set it up with a washer and had a quick look with it switched on

Can you hear the thermostat click? Yes

Fuel pump? From what I can gather the fuel pump  and fuel filter looks  ok as the return to tank fuel pipe fuel is coming out ok.

Is the flow switch sticking? Sorry I have no idea what that means

On the quick test I did earlier it does fire up now and then when it feels like it. When it starts and then stops it billows grey smoke not black.
