Removing Ivy suckers on painted pebble dash top tip
« on: July 24, 2016, 08:39:55 am »
Removing ivy suckers on painted pebble dash top tip is : Walk away & let them get some other sucker to try getting it off  ;D
If you do try make sure customer is aware the surface will need re-painting afterwards.

That was my first and will be my last attempt of trying to remove ivy suckers from painted pebble dash I can tell you as was a pita of a job to do by hand.

I tried the following:

brushing it off dry with a wire brush
burning it off with a gas torch
using a heat gun and wire brush
wetting the suckers down with a hose pipe then brushing it off with a wire brush
using a steamer and wire brush

Anything else I missed?  ::)roll

Smudger thanks, that's something I don't have or would have tried that aswell.
To be honest the steamer and wire brush worked the best but was so slow and hard going it done my sweed in.

The best advice I heard a pal give when asked for his opinion  on removing ivy was "sell the house" ;D
