Have the day off, get a magnifying glass and burn some ants; it's great fun.  Or go and call for any ginger people you know to come out and play.
If I have to work, I try and do some internal stuff and get out of the currant bun.  Like doing the insides of a conservatory roof,

Just chant..... Hare Krsna, Hare Krsna, Krsna Krsna, Hare Hare, Hare Rama, Hare Rama, Rama Rama, Hare Hare. It's beats chanting Tory Tory or Labour Labour.

On a positive note, my R.O. tank filled in record time this morning.

How anyone can moan about the weather is beyond me.

Some days our job is hard work and miserable. But today definitely ain't one of those days! Enjoy it lads, it'll soon be back to overcast & cold.

I've had to roll my Kappa trackie bottoms up to my knees today and let the arse hang a bit lower than usual. Apart from that it's not been too bad.

Are they the ones with snap fastening on the sides? I have them too.. I just undo them and wear them like chaps it creates a lovely breeze  8)

Well, went to Weston-super-Mare today and arrived about 10 am - fairly quiet and easy to park for free and then we (Mrs. Gold and I) had a paddle in the muddy sand at the  water's edge.

Then one repaired to the pier where some poor workers were pressure washing the sides from a cherry picker - they were wearing the pier uniform which was black. Hot, hot, hot! (And not in an attractive way either.)

After a pleasant cream tea in the air-conditioned Edwardian style restaurant at the end of the pier where we were served not by an Eastern European but a young German student from Cologne called Felix  (One resisted the temptation to tell him one's pater was in Cologne in 1945) one braved the 30 degree heat  and promenaded along the sea front and took in the view of Steep Holm and Flat Holm islands against the South Wales coastline.

All and sundry were out and about - England at it's best - school parties, grannies in wheelchairs, tattooed and bearded young men to brummie muslims - the wife/mother did look a bit out of place dressed in a hijab and abaya picking her way through the muddy sand at low tide. But the fat white Englishmen who looked like they had medicine balls under their T-shirts were particularly eye-catching as were the thigh-rubbing waddling women in flip-flops. Even the donkeys had straw hats on.

By 2pm the place was heaving - two land trains were carrying the great unwashed and avoiding cyclists, skateboarders and nut-truck (mobility scooters) riders - and the temperature peaked at 32 degrees (although the car gauge showed 37) and we had a look around the sand sculpture exhibition which "were right good" and headed home to sit in front of the air conditioner.

Luvly!
It's a game of three halves!

They call it Weston-Super-Mud Granville for a good reason.
Glad you had a nice break though as quality time with the loved ones don't go a miss sometimes.

Myself I started late at 10:30 and was back home by 4:30 after dropping by my local Morrison to pick up a 14" American hot pizza and two flagons of cider as the missus is at her ageing mums tonight so I have to fend for myself. I have one flagon of cider left now. Oops! as I get the felling in the morning I will be saying "Never again" again  ;D

Day off for me tomorrow (decided about an hour ago). I quite fancy a boat trip along the Jurassic coast with wine and beer and then a nice bit of lunch with the missus. Taxi back. 'Lovely job tell yer mum'!  ;D
