Never hear anybody complain about that company that charges 3 grand for a conservatory 'valet' . Just because they were 83 , doesn't mean it wasn't a large job

It can also work the other way around too as you never hear of people complaining that they had a good job done on the cheap.
Maybe old cleaners should report them to the fuzz too as they obviously have been taken for a ride   

The point I'm trying to make is firms or sole traders are in business to make a good profit but at the same time not blatantly rip people off like scallywag travellers and more to the point not be taken for a ride themselves.

Exactly there is no law to stop people charging what they want and as long as the customer is in sound mind accepts
the quote and is happy with the quality of work then they have nothing to complain about.
That said I get the feeling there's more to this story than a customer being unhappy with an agreed price.

Well said Sean , the same could be thought about me cleaning a house for £15 when somebody else will happily do it for £5- am I ripping them off ? no , I just charge what I want to earn .
I'd quite happily charge more and work less

they have a choice, now if they wernt sound of mind.. then ok but what if you quoted a more "normal" price say £50, and they agree, is that rogue trading?
