Guys

elliott cleaning has pointed out that my answers can be vague. first yes I have to be sometimes as people that live near me use this forum. anyway he has made me think how I can explain where I am coming from. BTW Thanks Elliott

One area that I feel we miss out on is the range of service we offer. lots of guys expand into doing other types of cleaning and thats great. but in my experience cleaning carpets is easy and pays well. so the more I can do the happier I am.

I keep saying about prochem training because of its link to its product range. this range of products solves problems. but most of us know about these problems and how to fix them but dont do any marketing for them.

lets look at fibresafe so if someone is searching for any of these keywords

wool carpet cleaner
how to clean a wool carpet yourself
best way to clean wool carpets
wool carpet cleaning guide
wool carpet cleaning chemicals
wool carpet cleaning products
cleaning wool carpet pet stains
cleaning a wool carpet at home

if they go to our site can they find a answer? sure they can see we clean carpets and rugs, But I think most want to know a answer. think about it they already know there is some kind of risk. by us showing them that we have a answer we also show that we know what we are talking about. The old saying you can lead a horse to water. the horse has to decide. we want them to buy from us. can you see where I am coming from?

now expand this to the full range of products we have on offer to use.

I had an article for calpol and it got loads of hits which helped my site overall.  another interesting one was "carpet stain resistant treatment" people dont think i have calpol on my carpet I need a carpet cleaner first. or I need stain protection. no they have had carpets before that have had stains on them and dont want to risk it again but is the purchase worth it?  related searches below

stain and soil resistant carpet
stain resistant carpet reviews
stain resistant carpet carpetright
stain resistant carpet tiles
stain resistant carpet toxic
best carpet stain resistant
pet stain resistant carpet
most stain resistant carpet

we know google want to give it searcher the best answers. add up how many words are on your site that are carpet cleaning related and Like me I bet its no where near where it needs to be. the term "carpet cleaning" is just top of the tree drilling down you find many more, and the more you have the more google see you as an authority on the subject.

so it works for prospects and SEO

we get so hocked up on selling the machine or method when its the products. any other trade would not be marketing the tools of the job but what they can do.

you can still get tools that tell you what search term are being used.

Everything has a buying process that we go though information gathering is just one step. people dont want to waste money or buy the wrong thing or service.

I guess if you ask 10 people about how to market their business, you'll get 10 different answers!

I think that most of us focus on the features of what we do, rather than the benefits of why we do it (I know I am guilty)... and customers buy the benefit (a cleaner, healthier dust-mite free carpet) rather than the feature (extraction cleaning using an Airflex Storm).

For us newbies, it's invaluable to take on board the comments of the more experienced carpet cleaners.

I agree with you totally and see where your coming from .

And it works great

And the reason it works so well is that 99.8% of carpet cleaners would know where to start .

Which is brilliant for you and me but not really any good for the other 99.8% .

I want to do much more with each page just getting the ideas down on each product. its that translation between whats sold to us and how that translates to prospects. that why google related search is good.

here are some related searches on soot. i know none of my sites would come up for any of these searches. what we need is someone to sell of the shelve videos with high production value that we just post. now someone like prochem could do that they would sell a lot more of each product. stain protection have been producing sample cards and bi fold leaflets for years. just coming up with simple demos that you can show prospects would help.

I like the idea of sample kits that you give away that prospects can test a very small area before  buying. when you can wow a prospect you can charge more. -) just think if someone has been trying lots of stuff and yours works, price will not come into it
