I have jet washed Tarmac driveways in the past but only if they are in good condition, if they are in poor condition and you hit it with the lance it will soon break up.
After that not I'm not sure, read on here that hypo could bleach the colour but also heard it doesn't have any affect but hypo not going to be a realistic option I wouldn't have said

Would have thought a flat surface cleaner fsc would do the trick

You can dry brush tarmac with a power brush and apply a biocide afterwards which is another option to consider.

Maybe what you should be saying Charlie is yes you can use hypo on tarmac but need to be very mindful as if not careful can take the colour out it if mixed too strong as in this example pic below.
I did have a better pic than that where someone else used hypo on a newish black tarmac drive and completely ruined it.

Nothing but aggro doing tarmac - they look great when wet - but all the ones i have done just dried crap (patchy) and I had to redo them.
Will not do any more now.

Jamie , what are you trying to remove off the tarmac ?
This will determine the method to be used.

Paul, the likes of smartseal make interesting marketing vids. This one is long but gives you an idea how easy it can be to revive a tarmac drive
