Does anybody know the best method to remove the remainders  of old pebble dashing?.  Is it just a case of jet washing it off. Also is there anything to try and restore the brick?. Many thanks

You may get away with a brick acid type application then pressure wash but the finish will not be great you would be better off with a JOS cleaning system or farrow system

Got a bric acid in the van and a good kranzle machine. Just never done it before so was worried of taking it on. Also what do you guys think for a price. It's just the front of a terrace house. So you think it should be ok to put bric acid on and then jet wash off?.

Yes brick acid can be used but it may not be good enough to get all the old mortar off, take all the neccasary precautions when using this stuff.

From experience I'd go sand blasting/JOS cleaning - sand blasting companies charge around £700 + vat per day here as a guide for you

Perhaps do a test spot in a lower corner out of sight to find the answer out

As smudger metioned already I would have thought rather than using brick acid and pressure washing best and safest method would be to use a torc type setup.

I've explained to the customer that I will come and test it to see what results I can get. And then I will take it from there.

I'm also betting the face of the bricks are battered to fook with bolster chisel damage. Personally I would not want to take the job as seems more hassle than it’s worth to me.

You won't shift that, sand blasting is the cheapest and best way. HCL won't work you'll be there for ever, if you are trying an acid try HF but it's horrendous to work with.

It's usually used for carbon staining as well so don't know how good it is on mortar

Haha I did get it in the end. I forgot to get the total after pic of the whole house. Used selscale brick acid. The owner was very happy so that's the main thing. 😁👍🏻
