Most expensive house - £270.00
Quickest Earner - £95 (20 mins WFP)
Biggest half day - £425 (Saxon Fields)
Biggest Day - £1100 (Burghclere Down)

if i ever have work like this I'd be bu$%ered if i would be telling anyone about it, just remember what happened to the plumbing trade, the national press had a field day with plumbers earning £70,000 a year. now there are hundreds of plumbing schools and a huge amount of newly qualified/qualifying plumbers. its supply and demand at its most basic.

there are some great accounts out there undoubtedly but if we all keep shouting about them then there will definately be an influx of window cleaners and hence falling income for everyone! not something that any of us would like to see I'm sure!

so just for the record my biggest job is £15.00 and it takes me 1 hour and a half!

Just for the record my biggest job is £10.00 and takes me a day, just to get there. :-X :-X

Our most profitable job is £2.

It is one shop window and takes under 30 seconds and is in between two other commercial jobs.

Over 4 years this bloke has paid us £400 for about 90 minutes work.

There is how much the job pays and profit and often they get confused. There is also dreams and reality.

£1100 for a day for one person? We're obviously doing something wrong.

Our highest paying job is £1000 and take 5 minutes.........

You're underpricing Ross.

For 5 minutes I'd want more like £1200.

dunno about best priced job,but today i went to clean the windows of a hotel ive had for some time now, they are due this week.it takes about 4 hours and its 200 quid.when i went in to speak to the manager (i always let him know what day im gonna do it beforehand) he said"just leave it for now" i didnt mind that but the arrogance and tone of him really got my back up.So i told him to shove it and find someone else.spoke to the head chef of the hotel tonight and he says the staff hate his arrogance and the way he speaks to them.ive got bills to pay and cant let people like that decide when theyre gonna get paid.
if i eat myself will i be twice as fat or will i disappear?

For me - £200 for 4 hours work?

I'd put that job as one I'd call by each week (or phone up) just to ask and treat it as just money if the sh*t says to do it and ignore his attitude. Some jobs are just 'cash' and nothing more.

Having said that a few months back I got fed up with some lady in a company and told her what I thought of her in front of all her staff and that was a similar type of situation but for nothing like the money that job paid.

You won't do bungalows quicker with wfp, unless your really slow by hand. :-\

Actually Rog you are quite wrong in that respect, tiny bungalows with only half a dozen windows or less I'll grant you its either quicker or about the same time, and there will always be accounts where access is awkward making it a waste of time to use WFP.
But I have a biggish bungalow, with conservatory, all simple, straight forward UPVC windows, all that you can just about reach without a ladder.

I charge the lady £14 for it, and I challenge you to come along and do it faster than I can do it WFP.

She is usually out and it is pretty private, no chance of being overlooked!

If you clean it faster than me, then I'll give you the money for it, if I'm quicker than you then I get the money.

Pic of bungalow conservatory attached!!

you keep saying you are as quick or quicker than WFP, care to put it to the test?

you are a quick trad window cleaner, but I would say I am only an ordinary speed WFP window cleaner.
Oh, I also have to pull out almost my entire 50m of hose to get around this one too and I'm prepared to time it from the moment I open the back door of the van ;)

Specifically to the topic though, my biggst day happens once every 8 weeks; 3 £60 offices, 1 £50 office and 1 £55 house, an £8 bungalow and a £25 pub.
8am start, 30 minutes for lunch and all done by 3-3:30pm

Just to clarify with all the postings, the figures I have quoted are not PER Person obviously!!! I run a team of 6 w/c's and this these figures are based on 3/4 people. As for the tax man, well he is more than welcome to visit, just had his mate the VAT man last month. We have nothing to hide  ;)

By Jesus!!!!!!!!!!

I can't wait to get my wfp set up and running. That's providing this bloody house move goes through pretty sharpish or i'll be skint and bankrupt, homeless and destitute within a couple of months worth of paying 3 mortgages.

Currently my biggest jobs are £25 every 2 months, or £20 monthly.

Quickest earner is a shop front. £4 for about 2 minutes work.

Best earning day since staring up last October is £185 all window work. Around £200 including some gutter cleans.

I am no doubt a slow trad cleaner so once up and running with wfp i reckon i should be making £200-£300 a day providing i can find the customers

All I can say is I must be living in a very low economy area.
Strange how you can be content with what you are earning till you find out others are getting much more for doing less!!

...........must try and remember what I was content with?

Its a freak day with freak prices. I must admit I do get embarassed with picking up the money. I normally do a couple of houses and then collect. The thing is its in one of the richest parts of the country. (Unfortunately I only have one day in that area) and they are awash with money. Most of them dont bat an eyelid as they are not living in the real world.

Is window cleaning a JOB or a BUSINESS

To many window cleaners spend time running a business and get paid the same amount as joe round the corner in a normal job.

If thats you you need to sit down and look at what you are paying out and what you get at the end of it, if its just a wage like joe round the corner then well whats the point  ???

Newby. Couldn't agree more.

One lady I clean for always says that was £15 for 20 mins work. I 'm a nurse and only get £10 an hour.

All I ever reply is... you get holiday pay, sick pay, pension, Life insurance etc etc and thats not inc the time we spend running the business.

We should earn a good amount otherwise it s not worth it.

A friend of mine runs a flooring company with 2 men working for him. He says he has to aim for £1000  a week for each employee just to run the business.

And thats what we are doing, running a business. If you're happy with 20 000 a year then I dont see the point in this job.

I ain't Joe
and I don't live round the corner!
If I did, I would be boasting like some of you, thinking how clever I am just because I live in a location of "the beautiful people, with nace howses" and Chelsea tractors!
Where I live Mr Average does actually drive a real tractor!
So maybe some of us are in fact more successful because we have remained solvent in 'depressed economy' areas!
Perhaps others wouldn't know how to survive!  You've had it too easy being able to charge £50+ ph!  thinking it's all because of your smart business acumen.

Maybe it's us that are the 'successful businesses' 8)

My best paid job?..................

I'm not telling you bunch of bigheads!

My best paid job is the one I'm doing!!
What's done is gone!  And the rest hasn't happened yet!
