Best brush for SLX 25
« on: June 30, 2016, 05:46:00 pm »
Hi Guys,

I know we all have our personal favourites but would like to ask for ideas for a new brush. I currently have the medium flocked which to be honest I have used day in and day out for 2 years and never changed my brush. I do fancy a change though plus it's getting a bit worn. It's the Gardiners SLX 25 and looking for an all rounder but mainly for domestic houses.

Also would any one recommend getting a separate brush for conny roofs? I have been using the same brush for literally everything(don't know how I got away with it) but any suggestions for both would be great,

Thanks :-)

If you are after lightness and less fatigue go for a extreme medium mixed, buy a couple because they don't last too long.

I use an Xtreme stiff in the bedroom for everyday cleans and a radius sill brush for connie roofs.

Agree with this other than I have never had problems with them lasting, they don't have the scrubbing power compared to
the heavier brushes so if you get a lot of hard to remove crud on your round then a heavier brush might be a better option.
But certainly for me they half the workload.

The most durable brush that cleans the best has to be the xline mono ... Similar weight to a super light but it feels different to a flocked brush ... Best brush I would say though ....

Thanks guys. Contrast of opinions there. Possibly lookIng at ultimate flocked as an all rounder.

What fittings do I need when ordering from gardiners? Quick loQ or screwed?  The one that comes with the slx I think.  You pop the orange tube in the socket. Is that quick loQ?

I use an Xtreme stiff in the bedroom for everyday cleans and a radius sill brush for connie roofs.

I assume your using hot with the Xtreme stiff ? Its certainly not a great brush for glass when using cold, great for fascia's
though.

Ultimate flocked, only been using a few days, great brush. Shmae the stock is wide, pain trying to get through railing.

Life used to be full of up's and downs....now i hardly ever get up a ladder :) .

Thanks Guys. Final question as trying to work out which fittings I need. Do all brushes have the Quick LoQ fitted on there as standard? As this is what I have on my old brush which I slide in and then use the screws to tighten up. When you check out it gives you the option of None,Quick LoQ or screwed. So do I need to select quick LoQ to have that on the brush or is it standard?

Sorry to sound so stupid :-)

You should never assume...we all know where that leads!
Yes I do use it with cold and it works very well for me; perhaps it's all in the technique.
If you have an alternative, I would love to hear it. Keep it light though as I have tennis elbow problems and it can get quite painful.
Cheers

No alternative as I'm an  Xtreme user, medium mixed (black and white ) I did use the stiff for a while but wasn't getting a great finish which luckily I found out before any damage to my reputation was done.
I put it down to the bristles being too stiff and missing parts of the glass but if its working for you fair enough.

All brushes bought with poles are supplied with Quick-Loq sockets.

Brushes bought separately can be bought with no socket, Quick-Loq socket or the older style screw-on for goosenecks with a top screw thread.

Thanks. So the pictures of the brushes online the quick loQ on the brushes are only if you buy with the poles? The actual brushes that you buy on its own come with nothing unless you select the quick loQ?

Correct - you can save money and buy  the brush without the socket if you have one off your old brush you want to re-use.

Ok thanks. They seem to be mounted on the brush so for the sake of 2 pounds I might as well select with the quick loQ option. Thanks again, will order over the weekend.
