Hi all ,

Did a 1st clean today and bloody hell I couldn't get this stuff off the windows and frames , I'm not sure if it was tree sap but the house is surrounded by trees ( very close) . The frames and glass had sticky stuff all over it , pure didn't work so tried virosol and that didn't work, tried rubbing a waffle cloth on it that didn't work , trad.... That didn't work . It's only on the side of the house which faces the trees..... Any ideas ?

That's one of the reasons why I use a hot water heater as hot water will help soften tree sap etc and make it an easier first clean.

Theses type of heaters are dirt cheap to buy that is if you don't mind carrying lpg gas bottles about.

Have you tried hot/warm soapy water from the customer instead as you metioned trad?

Soak window and frame spray g101 on it leave it while you do rest off window s then go back to it if that doesn't get it completeley of a bucket off hot soapy water with a non scratch scouring pad should do the trick

I don't normally have a problem with tree sap and cold water.  I've no doubt that hot water works better on it, but usually a little extra scrubbing and a good rinse will get sap off.

It's best to get it off asap.

Don't scrub too much you'll sap all you're energy, and then you'll look like a right sap...all this just to get off some tree sap...

Think thread has taken a bit of an off shoot and may need pruning back .

Got a conservatory near a tree that gets sap on windows so dip a magic sponge in bucket of trad  quick rub on window job done

Funniest job I did was a conservatory that had a massive bush by the side of it.
I recognised the smell instantly as I had to brush past it and by the time I got home I stank of weed.
Apparently the chap was looking after it for a friend. Yeah right

Had something similar a couple of years back. leaned into it whilst cleaning a kitchen window and walked round stinking of the stuff for a quite a while. Couple of months later I called to clean the windows and though the plant had gone there were four polish relatives of my customer all sitting round in the garden smoking the stuff and high as kites. I've never had a bunch of people so happy to pay me. They were almost fighting over the privilege.
