I charge £3.20/m plus have a min charge of £120 for new customers ( existing might get it done a bit cheaper) but for  a minimum charge job I choose when it's done..... usually it's tagged onto a early finish day

My advice is when quoting to break the quote down.

For instance after our preamble chat, measuring up, checking for good drainage etc i say something like "Price to clean the block paving driveway is bla bla. " (I go in high)

Then say before giving a price to resand "do you want me/us to come back and resand it for you or are you going to do it yourselves?"

Either way you get a good price for the clean before committing yourself price wise to others add-ons. Not only that the customer will normally decide to ask "how much to resand" or just say "we will do it ourselves and not bother asking."

Giving the customer the options is a good passive way of up selling any add-ons and to gain a higher price for the initial clean.

Works well for me   ;D

my minimum is 60 quid and thats for a standard size drive and only if its local, if ive got to drive an hour i'll charge more. can get a standard drive cleaned and sanded within 2 hours, so 30 quid an hour is good for me, but round me apparently no one gets anything cleaned so im struggling at that price!

Im with smurf on this one. Only added p/washing last 2 months and realised that alot in my area dont wish to pay high going rate and so ive priced myself out of some jobs.
My min price depends on if an existing client or not and overall size. But my nin for existing clients is 60 and thats for a small patio slab job not blocked pathing.
I also sell up, so a price for initial clean and a price for sanding. Sanding i have 2 prices,  one for plain kiln sand and one for weed inhibited sand to slow regrowth down.

So what you are saying you can clean an average size block paved driveway and then resand afterwards I take it in one visit in about 2 hours for 60?

That's not taking into consideration fuel costs for the washer, sand cost used, any chem like hypo used, wear & tear on the kit, revisit to resand, tax etc etc so really at that price you would not be earning 30 an hour now would you.

If I was that desperate to gain work at that sort of price I would not bother at all and I'm sure potentials would think was way too cheap and go with someone dearer.
